It\u2019s an awesome miracle every time. \u200bEveryone is \u2064home now, and everyone is\u200d good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rivers, a practicing Catholic, said both his mother \u2063and father come from large families.\u00a0\u201cWe thought we would be the third generation of nine, \u2063but we decided to go double digits \u2064\u2013\u200c or I should say we didn\u2019t decide it. God \u200cdecided,\u201d the former\u2062 QB said.<\/p>\n<p>Since \u200cretiring from the NFL in 2021, Rivers has taken on the role as a high school \u2062football coach,\u200d following in \u2064the footsteps of his own\u2064 father. One of Rivers\u2019 sons, Gunner, is just a freshman, but the starting QB at the school, St. Michael \u200bCatholic High.<\/p>\n<p>Baby Andrew waited until the team\u2019s off week to be born, Rivers quipped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe pulled into Volanta Park about 6 p.m. and\u200d Tiff \u2063called and said things were picking up,\u201d\u2063 he recalled, referring \u200cto a game. \u201cI\u2019m like,\u200b \u2018You\u2019ve got to be kidding.\u2019 About 6:50,\u200c she called and said everything was good, and we\u2064 got \u200dthrough the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING GUIDE<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2063 are thankful and blessed,\u201d he said. \u200d\u201cI\u2019m \u200dthankful\u2062 it happened during our off week. It\u200b is St. Sebastian\u2019s Feast \u2063day, \u200cthe\u200b day I played in the AFC championship without an ACL, and now the day that after 17 seasons,\u2062 I\u2019m announcing my\u200c retirement from the National Football League,\u201d the athlete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colts.com\/news\/retirement-philip-rivers-statement-17-nfl-seasons-san-diego-chargers-2020-season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> at the\u2062 time. \u201cThank you, God,\u200c for allowing me to \u200dlive \u200bout my childhood dream of playing quarterback in the NFL.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rivers spoke openly about his faith during his NFL career.\u2062 In 2017, for example,\u2063 he\u00a0discussed how he \u200dmade his faith his \u201cown\u201d when he went \u200caway to college.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy faith \u200chas always been very important to me,\u201d \u200che said. \u201cWhen I went to college is\u2063 really\u2064 when it became my own. I had \u200bto get up out of \u2062that dorm room and go to church, go to mass on Sunday.
