He \u2062fondly remembered working with the late Williams, praising \u2064his unmatched talent\u2064 in bringing the titular character to life.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Early on\u2062 in the process, he went to me: &#8216;Hey\u200d boss, the\u200b way I like to\u2064 work, if you\u2019re up for \u200bit, is I\u2019ll give you three or\u2062 four \u200cscripted takes, and then let\u2019s play,&#8217; Columbus told the\u2064 outlet.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/black-friday-gift-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CHECK OUT THE\u200b DAILY WIRE BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING\u200c GUIDE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;By saying that, what he meant was he wanted to improvise. And that\u2019s exactly \u2063how\u200c we shot every scene.\u200d We would have exactly what was scripted, and then\u200b Robin would go off \u200band it \u200bwas something to behold.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The director expressed sympathy for the \u200cscript director, Margaret de Jesus, who \u200dhad to manually record \u200ball the improvised changes.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Remember, this is the early 1990s,\u200c she wasn\u2019t typing what he was saying. She\u200c was handwriting it and Robin would change every take,&#8221; Columbus continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cSo Robin would go\u200c to\u2062 a place\u200c where he couldn\u2019t remember much of what he said. We would\u2063 go to the script supervisor and ask her\u2064 and \u200bsometimes she didn\u2019t even get it all. Often, he would \u200bliterally give us a completely different \u2063take than what we did \u2063doing the written takes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He\u2062 added, \u201cIf it were today, we would never end. But\u2064 back then, we were shooting film \u2063so once \u2063we were out of film in the camera, we would say to Robin: \u2018We\u2019re out of film.\u2019 That happened on several occasions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt got to the point that I had to shoot the entire movie\u200c with four\u200c cameras to keep up with him. None of us knew \u200bwhat he\u2064 was going to say when he got going\u200c and so I wanted \u200da camera on the other actors to\u2062 get their reactions,\u201d \u2062Columbus said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The film also starred Sally Field as Williams\u2019 ex-wife\u2064 and Pierce Brosnan as \u200cher new \u2062love \u2064interest. \u2064The\u2064 director said \u2062it \u2064was \u2064\u201cquite difficult for them not to break character\u201d\u200d when Williams was in full\u200c improv mode.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Based \u200bon the 1987 Anne Fine novel &#8220;Madame Doubtfire,&#8221; the movie follows a divorced\u2062 man\u200c (Williams) who disguises himself as a British nanny to stay close\u200b to his\u2064 three kids. He\u2063 was \u206263 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What challenges did the production\u200c team face when sifting through the\u200d 2 million feet of film?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  T of film,\u200b we\u200d have to move on.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The result \u2062of Williams&#8217; improvisation was a staggering 2 million feet of film. \u2062This means that \u200bfor every scripted take, there were countless additional \u2062takes with improvised lines and moments. The production team had to sift through the mountain\u200c of footage \u2062to \u200cpiece together the\u200c final cut of the film.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the challenges of sorting through the vast amount of footage, Columbus emphasized \u2062that the improvisation was crucial to the success of &#8220;Mrs. Doubtfire.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It was anarchy, and yet it brought the\u200d character to life in a way that I don\u2019t think \u2063any \u2062other actor could \u200dhave \u2063done,&#8221; the director said. &#8220;It\u2019s one of those things where you can\u2019t imagine anyone else \u2064in that role. It was a character that \u200cevery actor in\u200d Hollywood wanted to\u2064 play and only \u2064Robin could\u2062 bring it to life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The improvisation also allowed Williams to showcase his comedic genius and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/moving-in-stereos\/\" title=\"Moving in Stereos\">rapid-fire delivery<\/a>.
