The\u2063 driver was found to be \u2063under the influence of cocaine\u2064 and PCP.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This crash is \u200djust \u200cone of many \u2063devastating accidents we&#8217;ve investigated that resulted from speeding and impairment, but\u200b it\u200c doesn&#8217;t have to\u200b be \u2062this way,&#8221; \u2062emphasized NTSB Chair \u2063Jennifer Homendy in\u2062 the press release. &#8220;We know that redundancy is the \u2063key to saving lives,\u2063 as\u200c it can protect us all from human errors on the road. What we \u2062lack is the collective \u200cwill to act \u200bon NTSB safety recommendations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the legal \u2063speed limits \u200din the U.S. \u200dare \u200ccapped at \u200c85 mph, vehicles\u200d are <a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/money-smart\/why-are-cars-designed-to-go-well-over-the-speed-limit\/#:~:text=As%20MotorBiscuit%20explains%2C%20there%20are,faster%20than%20the%20law%20allows.&#038;text=First%2C%20drivers%20are%20given%20a,collisions%20or%20escape%20dangerous%20situations.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">designed<\/a> to go \u2063much\u200c faster\u2064 to facilitate\u200d safe passing and emergency maneuvers.
