economy<\/a> by forcing Americans into\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/electric-vehicle-makers-stock-price-tanks-time-low-painful-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electric vehicles<\/a> \u200d in place\u200d of those with\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-electric-vehicle-efforts-run-into-unexpected-roadblock-this-situation-is-a-bit-dangerous\/\" title=\"Biden's Electric Vehicle Efforts Run Into Unexpected Roadblock: 'This Situation Is a Bit Dangerous'\">traditional gas-powered\u200c internal combustion engines<\/a> have encountered yet another speed bump.<\/p>\n<p>This time, the roadblock was thrown up by the Biden\u2064 administration\u2019s primary\u200b target itself: the free-market\u200c economy.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/money\/markets\/biden-s-electric-vehicle-push-hits-a-speed-bump\/ar-AA1khoN1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u2062 Wall\u200c Street\u200d Journal<\/a>, prices for many of the minerals needed for electric \u2063vehicle batteries have increased so \u2062much that producers are pulling back \u2064on expanding production.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Threatening Shortages and Delayed Plans<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe disruptions are threatening\u2064 to deepen shortages\u2062 of \u200bthose materials in coming years and hit the brakes\u200b on the Biden administration\u2019s timeline for weaning the country \u2062off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/3-recent-failures-of-green-energy-policies\/\" title=\"3 Recent Failures of Green Energy Policies\">gas-powered cars<\/a>,\u201d the\u2063 Journal reported.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Milewski, CEO\u2063 of battery metals investment company Nickel 28, called the situation \u201cdangerous\u201d to Biden\u2019s scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis situation\u200d is a bit dangerous\u200c because the mines aren\u2019t going to get built,\u201d he told the Journal. \u201cWe should be \u2062building those mines\u2063 now and we\u2019re\u2064 not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/shark-tank-star-shreds-biden-admins-plan-go-electric-not-going-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden administration<\/a> had set\u2062 a goal of 2030 for \u2063having half of all\u2063 new vehicle sales\u2063 in \u200cthe \u200cU.S. to be of EVs, according to\u200c the Journal.<\/p>\n<p>In the 3rd quarter of this year, \u2062only about\u2063 8 percent \u200cof newly purchased cars were electric.<\/p>\n<p>New mining \u2064projects already faced uphill battles against what \u200cthe Journal\u2062 called \u201clocal opposition, environmental concerns, red tape and other obstacles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to see production-expansion delays globally,\u201d Paul Graves,\u200b CEO of Philadelphia-based lithium producer Livent,\u200d said\u2064 on a recent call \u2063with investors.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>The Free Market Will Find \u200ba Way<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Demand for lithium, cobalt and nickel \u200dis expected to \u200bgrow much faster \u200cthan supply over the next seven years,\u2064 but \u2062with prices of the minerals so \u200dlow currently, \u2064producers have \u200clittle incentive \u200bto invest in expanding their capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that it can take years\u200d between a mineral discovery and\u200b gearing up\u2062 to exploit \u2063it only \u2064complicates the timeline, \u200dthe Journal\u200b said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, falling mineral prices should \u2063lower the cost of EV batteries, which should in turn pull \u200bdown prices of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/electric-vehicle-manufacturers-forced-slash-prices-consumers-send-clear-message\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electric vehicles<\/a>, making them more affordable to\u2062 a broader range of\u2064 consumers.<\/p>\n<p>That, in\u200c turn,\u200d should increase EV demand, leading to higher prices for \u200dthe vehicles, \u2064their batteries \u200b\u2014\u200d and the \u200dminerals \u200dneeded to produce them,\u2064 which would \u200dprovide an\u200d incentive\u2062 for producers to expand their\u200c operations.<\/p>\n<p>As it always
