Police later\u2064 traced that account to the employee.<\/p>\n<p>The woman \u2014\u200b identified by the pseudonym Jane\u200c Doe in the lawsuit\u200c \u2014 said she confronted management at the \u2062T-Mobile store in question,\u200b only to be told that she needed to \u200bpay \u200cthe full price for the phone data\u200d transfer before she \u2064could get her phone \u200dback.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cRather than helping \u200bJane out in the \u200cface of the sexual privacy crime, the \u2064T-Mobile manager said if Jane wanted access back to the old device that had been \u2063weaponized against her,\u200d Jane would need to pay them the amount that they had discounted her\u200d for the trade-in,\u201d the lawsuit says.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cJane\u2019s mother on Jane\u2019s behalf surrendered and paid the amount,\u201d it says.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The individual responsible for the theft \u2062of her content pleaded guilty to a charge of \u2064first-degree\u2064 computer trespass last month, according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>The suit\u2062 points to numerous other cases\u200b involving T-Mobile\u200d allegedly \u201cturning a blind eye\u201d to theft of customers\u2019 data.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cFor almost a decade, T-Mobile customers\u200b across the United\u2064 States have regularly reported, evidenced\u2062 by \u2064news stories and lawsuits, instances of retail store employees stealing their intimate videos, explicit \u200bphotos, and bank accounts,\u201d it says.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cNevertheless, \u2063T-Mobile \u200chas failed to implement any common-sense security hardware or \u2063software to protect consumers from their data\u2064 and privacy being exploited\u200c during ordinary transactions at the T-Mobile store,\u201d the lawsuit says.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At\u200b least eight other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/equifax-giving-125-147-million-americans-class-action-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuits<\/a> have been filed\u2064 against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/phone-giant-slapped-with-major-lawsuit-after-nude-images-stolen-from-customers-trade-in\/\" title=\"Phone Giant Faces Lawsuit Over Stolen Nude Images from Customer's Trade-In\">phone company \u2063alleging similar privacy violations<\/a>, according to CNBC.<\/p>\n<p>T-Mobile\u200d agreed \u2062to a $350 million settlement earlier this year in connection to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/election-software-ceo-surrenders-to-la-authorities-prosecutors-allege-massive-data-breach\/\" title=\"Election Software CEO Surrenders to LA Authorities; Prosecutors Allege \"Massive Data Breach\"\">data breach affecting<\/a> its customers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">5.
