Three 30-year terms and five life sentences make up the overall amount of\u2063 incarceration. 42 women were tried,\u2064 which is a record for a mafia-related court session, and\u200d 39 \u200cout of the 42 were found guilty.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statements given throughout the trial,\u2063 many of the defendants \u200bhad memorable nicknames, including \u201cThe Wolf,\u201d \u201cFatso,\u201d \u200b\u201cSweetie,\u201d and \u200d\u201cLamb \u200bThigh,\u201d that were captured on almost 24,000 wiretaps.<\/p>\n<p>A sentencing document\u200d obtained by the American press showed that the convicted parties included the former regional councilors Luigi Incarnato and Pietro\u2062 Giamborino, the former mayor \u200dGianluca Callipo, former \u200bpolice chief \u2062Giorgio Naselli, and\u2064 former \u200cfinancial\u2064 police officer Michele Marinaro.<\/p>\n<p>The purported mobsters \u2064were found guilty \u200cof mafia affiliation, extortion, bribery, and at \u2062least five murders. They were reportedly connected to the infamous Nrangheta\u2064 criminal gang in Italy.<\/p>\n<p>The trial was \u2062known as the \u201cRinascita Scott,\u201d after \u2063U.S. special agent Scott W.\u200b Sieben.
