Like Julian Assange, Musk was a catalyst for public discussions that \u2063our leaders simply do not want us to be having. Under Musk, Twitter \u2062allowed \u2062everyone to speak \u2062directly to the\u2063 people in power. It allowed average Americans\u2064 to say what they\u2019re actually thinking, free of censorship, at least for the \u2062most part. And that\u2019s the one thing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-reconvenes-with-no-end-in-sight-to-speaker-stalemate\/\" title=\"House Reconvenes With No End in Sight to Speaker Stalemate\">federal government simply<\/a> cannot permit. So Musk became a villain, virtually overnight.<\/p>\n<h3>The Absurdity\u200d of\u2063 the Smear Campaign<\/h3>\n<p>The turn wasn\u2019t exactly convincing. Indeed, it\u2019s difficult to overstate the extent of the absurdity \u2062of\u2063 this \u200cparticular smear campaign. They really aren\u2019t even trying to hide it. Joe Biden\u2019s S.E.C. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/autos\/tesla-elon-musk-glass-house-doj-sec-investigation-c723166b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launched<\/a> an investigation into whether Musk was trying to build himself a \u201cglass house\u201d using money from\u2063 Tesla \u2014 which he single-handedly transformed from near-bankruptcy \u200cinto the most profitable \u2064car company on the planet. \u200bMeanwhile the DOJ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-sues-spacex-discriminating-against-asylees-and-refugees-hiring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sued<\/a> Musk\u2019s company for\u200d not hiring\u2062 enough refugees,\u200d which was so absurd on its face\u200c that \u200da judge \u200drecently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/spacex-wins-reprieve-us-lawsuit-alleging-anti-immigrant-bias-2023-11-09\/#:~:text=Nov%209%20(Reuters)%20%2D%20A,hire%20refugees%20and%20asylum%20recipients.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shut<\/a> the whole thing down. And regulators working for the state of\u2062 California \u2014 who have never produced anything remotely useful in their lives \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/02\/15\/1080884899\/california-sues-tesla-alleging-rampant-racism-at-factory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">went after<\/a> Musk because his assembly plants are apparently hotbeds\u2063 for white\u200c supremacy,\u2062 because \u200csome employees supposedly overheard a racial slur or something. At the same time, the media reassured us again and again that Twitter was on the\u2062 verge \u2064of failing. It would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/11\/04\/elon-musk-twitter-chaos-midterms-00065192\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collapse<\/a> during \u200cthe midterm elections, they told us last year.<\/p>\n<h3>The\u2064 Failed Attacks on Musk<\/h3>\n<p>None \u2064of these attacks were effective because they \u200bwere either \u2063obviously false, or too far removed from Musk himself. The media could claim that\u2062 some random Tesla factory had racist graffiti in the bathroom, but \u200blinking such a heinous fake crime to Musk wasn\u2019t easy to \u200cdo.\u200d That\u2019s why, for the past year, the forces \u200bof censorship have been grinding away \u2014 trying and utterly failing to land a kill shot\u200d on Musk. But all\u200c the while, they\u2019ve been waiting for the perfect \u2064moment to pounce.<\/p>\n<h3>The Controversial Comment and Musk&#8217;s\u2064 Response<\/h3>\n<p>Last week,\u200c however, these operatives sensed that they\u2062 finally had their opening.\u2062 It all began \u2062on November 15, when the following video appeared on X. It\u2019s from a group called the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fcas.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">founded<\/a> by \u2062billionaire NFL \u200bowner Robert Kraft. \u2062Watch:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">You have said the actual truth<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1724908287471272299?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 15, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Musk apparently saw this\u200b comment and agreed with it. Here\u2019s what Musk posted in \u2064response: \u201cYou have said the actual truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Musk&#8217;s Reasonable Arguments<\/h3>\n<p>Musk then elaborated. In a follow-up post about an hour-and-a-half later, Musk wrote, \u201cThe ADL unjustly attacks the majority of the West, despite the majority of \u2063the West supporting\u200d the Jewish people and Israel. This is because \u2062they cannot, by their own tenets, \u200ccriticize the minority groups who are their primary threat. It is \u200bnot right and needs to stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When another poster \u2063explained that not \u200dall Jewish communities are \u2062involved in \u2062this kind of race hatred, Musk answered, \u201cYou [are] right that this does not extend to all Jewish communities, but it is also not just\u2064 limited to ADL.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Everything \u200dabout what Musk \u200bwrote is clearly reasonable. \u2062It doesn\u2019t mean you have to agree with him, but his arguments do make sense. They\u2019re logical and they comport with all\u200b the data we have. It\u2019s the kind\u200c of thing we should be able to talk about but large corporations and the federal government don\u2019t want you to have \u200dinteresting conversations like\u2062 this. They \u2018re forbidden. Instead, they want\u200c you\u2062 to \u2063shut up and obey. So, one after the other, every \u2063major media outlet \u2014 from the supposedly \u2063conservative\u2064 Wall Street Journal and Fox News to hard-Left MSNBC and\u2064 CNN \u2014 lined up \u2063to accuse Musk of \u201cantisemitism\u201d this week. They accused him of hating Jews, because \u200dhe criticized\u200d a subset of Jews for doing something they\u200b \u2018re obviously doing. Here\u2019s \u200cCBS News:<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll notice \u200bthat nowhere in that CBS report do they provide the context for Musk\u2019s remarks. They don\u2019t show you the advertisement he was responding to. \u200cNor do they show you his follow-up posts which make it clear exactly who and\u2064 what \u200dhe\u2019s \u200dcriticizing.<\/p>\n<h3>The Orchestrated Attack on Musk<\/h3>\n<p>Predictably \u2014 almost as\u200d if it was coordinated \u2014 a bunch of\u2064 companies like IBM and Lionsgate and Paramount and Apple responded to this hit piece\u2064 by suspending their ad campaigns on X. They didn\u2019t even wait for Musk\u2019s response to Media Matters, or any kind of independent investigation\u2063 whatsoever. They decided to cut off Musk\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/theyre-coming-after-elon-because-he-committed-the-sin-of-allowing-us-to-speak\/\" title=\"Elon is targeted for enabling our freedom of speech.\">entire social media site<\/a>, because one rabidly Left-wing group claimed that they\u200d found some ads next to \u201cobjectionable content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But it appears that\u200c Media \u2062Matters isn\u2019t just writing\u2064 hit pieces. Musk and executives at X looked\u2064 into what Media Matters\u2019 was claiming. In a statement posted to his account, Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/en_us\/topics\/company\/2023\/stand-with-x-to-protect-free-speech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noted <\/a>that:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To manipulate the public and advertisers, Media Matters created\u200d an \u200balternate\u200c account\u2063 and curated the posts and advertising appearing on the account\u2019s timeline\u2063 to misinform\u200b advertisers about the placement of their posts.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Specifically,\u2064 a Twitter \u2063executive later <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/benarroch_joe\/status\/1725914126277304823\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">alleged:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Media \u200cMatters created 3 accounts and\u200b followed 30 accounts similar to the ones in the article. They then constantly refreshed the timeline \u200cof posts (13 times \u2063the \u200dnumber of ads served to this user as opposed to the\u2063 median.) 50 impressions served against the content in\u200c the article, out of 5.5 billion served the whole day, points to the fact of how efficiently our model avoids content for advertisers. \u2064Data wins over allegations.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In other\u200b words, Media Matters appears\u2064 to \u2064have engineered an artificial scenario to slander Musk and X. They didn\u2019t approach this in any kind of\u2064 impartial way. They \u2062weren\u2019t trying to \u200bgather information. They\u2063 were trying to write a malicious hit piece,\u200c and cook the data. \u200dAnd they did. They appear to have cost X millions of dollars \u2064because of it.<\/p>\n<h3>Musk&#8217;s Lawsuit\u2063 Against Media Matters<\/h3>\n<p>For conservatives, this\u2064 is a familiar story. This is \u200dthe part where the Right lies down, and accepts their scolding from the far Left, and goes into hiding, all\u200b the while begging their enemies not to call them racist anymore. But, for once, that\u2019s not happening. After gathering all of this data that reveals what Media Matters\u200d had done, \u200dMusk wrote on X:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The\u2064 split second court opens on Monday, X Corp will be filing a thermonuclear lawsuit against \u200dMedia Matters and ALL those who colluded\u2062 in \u2063this\u200b fraudulent attack on our company.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Musk added that he\u2019s going after:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Their board, their donors, their network of\u200b dark money, all of them.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There\u200b are a handful\u2062 of obvious justifications for a lawsuit by X against Media \u2062Matters. For one, they appear to have deliberately interfered with X\u2019s contractual relationship with his advertisers, \u2063using fraud and deceit. But what\u2019s maybe more interesting about this lawsuit, aside from the financial ramifications, is what X could learn in discovery. It would be interesting to uncover the potential\u200b level of collusion between Media \u2064Matters and all these corporate advertisers. \u2064It \u2064would also be interesting \u200cto learn the extent of the Biden administration\u2019s involvement in all of this. Mostly it will be great to see the soulless hacks\u200c at Media Matters get punched back by the richest man on the planet. Usually they target people who\u200b don\u2019t have the resources to \u200cchallenge them in court. But \u2063if there\u2019s anything Musk has, it\u2019s resources.<\/p>\n<h3>The Battle for Free Speech<\/h3>\n<p>The truth is that\u2064 the system hates \u200bMusk \u2063for a simple reason. \u200bHe has \u2063provided the one major platform in existence\u2064 where we can speak\u200b freely. That\u2019s why they\u2019re coming after him. He committed\u2063 the cardinal sin\u2062 of allowing us to speak. As far as Media \u200cMatters is\u2064 concerned, this is unforgivable. That\u2019s why Musk should, as he\u2019s\u200c threatened, sue them into bankruptcy\u2064 \u2014 and also boot them from\u2062 his platform. After\u200c all, \u2064they don\u2019t believe that everyone should have access to social media. For once, let\u2019s hold them to their own standard.<\/p>\n<p>If we\u200d can do \u2064that, then Media Matters and its various cutouts will be destroyed completely. They will never come back. And then the adults in this country can\u200b have real conversations about \u2062how to make our cities livable again. We can talk about whether it\u2019s wise to \u2062endlessly print money to fund foreign wars and pay for \u2064useless \u2062bureaucrats, while our currency loses value by the \u200bday.\u200b We can have all the conversations that Leftist activists desperately don\u2019t want us to have.<\/p>\n<p>This is the\u2062 fight that was inevitable from \u200dthe day Elon \u2063Musk bought Twitter. \u2062Now it\u2019s here. The media took this opening and ran\u2062 with it, plastering headlines everywhere about Musk\u2019s alleged support for antisemitism. Social media\u200d users\u2064 joined in on the frenzy, with hashtags like #BoycottMusk trending. It \u2064was an orchestrated \u200beffort to destroy Musk\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n<h3>Musk&#8217;s Explanation<\/h3>\n<p>Musk, rightfully so, responded to the backlash and clarified his comment. He explained \u2064that he was not supporting the content of \u2063the video, but rather agreeing with the person&#8217;s statement about saying the truth. Musk emphasized that he does not endorse hate or discrimination in any form and \u2064has always stood\u200d against it.\u2063 Despite his explanation, the\u200d damage had already been done.<\/p>\n<h3>Understanding the Motives\u2064 Behind the \u2064Smear Campaign<\/h3>\n<p>So why is Musk\u2064 the target of\u200d such an intense smear campaign?
