Despite owning a \u200b150,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-times-democrats-flip-to-republican-in-political-upheaval-of-border-towns\/\" title=\"NY Times: Democrats Flip to Republican in 'Political Upheaval' of Border Towns\">000-acre ranch<\/a> in Texas, Bezos&#8217; recent\u200c photoshoot for a\u200d Vogue profile of his fianc\u00e9e, Lauren S\u00e1nchez, wearing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-did-a-canadian-mayor-make-this-anti-muslim-statement-to-parents\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Did A Canadian Mayor Make This Anti-Muslim Statement To Parents?\">white t-shirt<\/a> and a cowboy hat, missed the mark according to The Guardian.<\/p>\n<p>The photoshoot, which took place on \u200dBezos&#8217; West Texas ranch, drew comparisons to his\u200d 2021\u200b trip to space where \u2063he \u200balso sported a cowboy hat. The San \u2062Francisco Chronicle even \u2063wondered if Bezos had &#8220;ruined cowboy hats for\u200c everyone.&#8221; However, according to cowboy regalia expert Michael Grauer, Bezos&#8217; hat\u2062 fails to reflect\u200c the ideals associated with the American cowboy.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s a way to co-opt the mystique, to appropriate the symbol of the man on\u2064 horseback who symbolizes freedom and liberty,&#8221; \u2062Grauer said. &#8220;You can wear the\u200d clothes, the hat, \u200dthe boots all day, but\u2064 unless \u2063you embrace what a cowboy really is, frankly, it\u2019s just a costume.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Some \u2062people also pointed out that the hat didn&#8217;t fit well on Bezos&#8217; \u20645-foot-7-inch frame, with one person comparing him to a &#8220;sprinkler head.&#8221; \u2063The internet was not kind \u2062to\u200d Bezos and his attempt at portraying a more down-to-earth image. If Bezos was trying to \u200drebrand his\u2063 image, it seems like an over-the-top attempt.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his success\u200b as a visionary entrepreneur, \u2064Bezos&#8217; cowboy \u200cattire didn&#8217;t convince anyone that he has the country&#8217;s best interests at heart. The Western\u200d Journal even conducted a poll asking \u2064readers if they \u200bbelieved Bezos did,\u200d but the \u200bresults \u200dwere not in his favor.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s clear that slapping on a Stetson and standing on Texas dirt doesn&#8217;t automatically make you a cowboy.
