The constant tension and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dem-congresswoman-says-she-has-parkinsons-on-steroids-will-finish-her-term\/\" title=\"Dem Congresswoman Says She Has 'Parkinson's on Steroids,' Will Finish Her Term\">demanding floor votes weakened<\/a> her, leading to\u2062 a fall\u2063 that injured\u200c her\u2063 neck.<\/p>\n<p>Due\u200c to her condition, Wexton now struggles to speak clearly, making\u2064 it difficult for her \u200dcolleagues to\u2062 understand her. Despite this setback, she remains\u200c cognitively sharp and eager to participate \u2062in conversations.<\/p>\n<p>Recognizing the challenges Wexton faces, her chief of\u200c staff, Abby Carter, sent a\u200b letter to fellow lawmakers advising them to ask Wexton to repeat herself or provide written communication if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with The \u200cWashington Post,\u200c Wexton expressed her frustration and the unfairness of her situation. She even \u200casked her doctor if \u200bshe could still run for re-election after \u200dher diagnosis, to which he questioned why she would want to.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ninds.nih.gov\/health-information\/disorders\/progressive-supranuclear-palsy-psp#toc-what-is-progressive-supranuclear-palsy-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Institutes\u2063 of Health<\/a>, PSP affects body movements, walking, balance, and eye movements. The disease typically progresses rapidly, leading\u2064 to severe disability within \u200cthree to five \u2062years\u200d of\u200d symptom onset.
