Version: 4.0.47--><p>Elon Musk has announced that he intends to sue the far-left organization Media Matters for America after it made what Musk described as an attempt to \u201cundermine freedom of speech and mislead advertisers\u201d on X.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Media Matters published an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediamatters.org\/twitter\/musk-endorses-antisemitic-conspiracy-theory-x-has-been-placing-ads-apple-bravo-ibm-oracle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> claiming that the social media platform was placing ads for big-name companies like Apple, IBM and Comcast next to \u201cpro-Nazi content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Immediately, the companies in question \u2014 along with Disney, Warner Bros., Lionsgate and Paramount \u2014 announced that they were pausing advertising on X, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-773874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Jerusalem Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Media Matters also accused Musk of endorsing \u201cwhite nationalist and antisemitic conspiracy theories,\u201d specifically the claim that Jewish people push \u201chatred against whites\u201d and support mass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/human-smuggler-kills-two-innocent-americans-evading-police-car-full-illegals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">illegal immigration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Even the Biden administration got in on the act, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/11\/elon-musk-promises-thermonuclear-lawsuit-after-big-brands-pause-ads-on-x-1235617887\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadline<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of antisemitism in American history,\u201d White House spokesman Andrew Bates said on Friday, referring to the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe condemn this abhorrent promotion of antisemitic and racist hate in the strongest terms, which runs against our core values as Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The attacks sent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-received-call-elon-musk-day-fox-news-fired\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Musk<\/a> on a tear on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe split second court opens on Monday, X Corp will be filing a thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and ALL those who colluded in this fraudulent attack on our company,\u201d he posted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir board, their donors, their network of dark money, all of them \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Their board, their donors, their network of dark money, all of them \u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1725771944467759573?\">November 18, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Musk also issued a lengthy statement addressing Media Matters\u2019 claims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis week Media Matters for America posted a story that completely misrepresented the real user experience on X, in another attempt to undermine freedom of speech and mislead advertisers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The X owner went on to explain that Media Matters created an account, curated its feed, and then repeatedly refreshed the feed \u201cto find a rare instance of ads serving next to the content they chose to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese contrived experiences could be applied to any platform,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Musk alleged that Media Matters\u2019 goal is to quash <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/us-supreme-court-agrees-hear-landmark-nra-free-speech-case-backed-18-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free speech<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbove everything, including profit, X works to protect the public\u2019s right to free speech,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\" class=\"one-half\">\n<div class=\"firefly-poll-question\">Should Musk sue Media Matters?<\/div>\n<div id=\"pollFormBox\" style=\"display: none\">\n<p>\t\t<label>Yes<\/label><br \/>\n\t\t<label>No<\/label><br \/>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-poll-disclaimer\">\n\t\tCompleting this poll entitles you to The Western Journal news updates free of charge via email. We must defend our individual rights as of our lives, and flourishing society, depend on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He concluded, \u201cIf you\u2019re really in on protecting free speech, then we all need to protect it completely.
