He then married Georgia Federal Judge Leslie Abrams \u200bGardner \u2014 the sister of former \u200cGeorgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13news.com\/news\/stacey-abrams-brother-in-law-arrested-in-tampa-for-attacking-16-year-old-human-trafficking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTVT<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now Gardner\u200d is\u200d in trouble \u2062with the law again. And\u2064 again he\u200d is accused of sexually \u2062assaulting a female, this\u2062 time a minor.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Gardner,\u200d 57, was arrested by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fugitives-bizarre-whiteboard-message-police-backfires-leads-arrest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local authorities<\/a> in Florida \u200dafter a juvenile reported she had been \u201cengaged in sexual acts \u200cwith Gardner\u201d according to\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampa.gov\/news\/2023-11\/tampa-police-arrest-georgia-man-human-trafficking-131766\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tampa \u200cPolice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Stacey Abrams\u2019 brother-in-law Jimmie \u2062Gardner is arrested \u2018for trying to pay underage \u2063girl for sex in Florida\u200c hotel\u2019 \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/S3YrL1MU0b\">https:\/\/t.co\/S3YrL1MU0b<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HTVmZS8wVL\">pic.twitter.com\/HTVmZS8wVL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daily\u2063 Mail Online (@MailOnline) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MailOnline\/status\/1725676363862900788?\">November 18, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Gardner is charged with one felony count of Human Trafficking for Commercial \u200dSexual Activity\u200c with a Victim Less Than 18,\u2064 one\u200b felony count of \u2064Lewd or Lascivious Touching of a Minor 16 \u200bor 17 Years \u200cof Age by a Person 24 Years of Age or Older and \u200bone misdemeanor count of Battery.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/feds-knew-1b-human-trafficking-transactions-epsteins-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">human trafficking<\/a> \u2063 charge alone could get \u2063Gardner up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meltzerandbell.com\/news\/human-trafficking-charges-what-are-human-trafficking-penalties\/#:~:text=According%20to%20Florida's%20laws%2C%20human,Maximum%2030%20years'%20probation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">15 years<\/a> in \u2063prison. Florida considers human \u2062trafficking a form \u200dof <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/solar-industrys-reliance-on-chinese-forced-labor-threatens-bidens-green-economy\/\" title=\"Solar Industry\u2019s Reliance on Chinese Forced Labor Threatens Biden\u2019s Green Economy\">modern-day slavery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, Gardner made contact with the 16-year-old female \u2062victim \u200bearly \u200cFriday morning.\u00a0 When he\u2063 invited her \u2062back to his \u2064hotel\u200c room, she accepted.<\/p>\n<p>At the hotel,\u2064 Gardner\u200d offered the\u2064 victim <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dem-family-values-candidate-mom-2-sex-online-tips-asked-5000-followers-money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">money for sex<\/a>. The victim agreed at first but then told Gardner she \u2064no longer wanted \u200dto go through with it. This\u2063 reportedly made Gardner\u200c angry.<\/p>\n<p>Gardner then told the victim to leave the hotel room. This \u200ddidn\u2019t go over well\u2064 and the two of them engaged in a \u201cverbal \u2064altercation that escalated to \u200da \u2064physical dispute.\u201d\u2063 Gardner reportedly put his hands around the victim\u2019s neck\u200d and cut off her\u2062 breathing.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, \u200dit was\u200d Gardner \u200cwho left the hotel room and called 911. Officers arrived upon the scene \u200bbut Gardner \u2063had already left. Police did\u200c locate the victim\u200c at the \u200dhotel.<\/p>\n<p>Gardner is being held\u2062 in jail \u2062without bond \u2063in\u2063 Hillsborough County. He \u2064is scheduled to face a judge Saturday,\u200c according to <a href=\"https:\/\/winknews.com\/2023\/11\/17\/jimmie-gardner-human-trafficking-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WINK-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gardner has \u200dled\u2064 a strange life, to say \u2062the very least.<\/p>\n<p>When he was drafted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/chicago-cubs-chairman-responds-racially-insensitive-emails-leak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chicago \u2062Cubs<\/a> \u2062in 1984 he must have felt like he was on top of \u2064the world. Then, \u2062in 1987, he was convicted of sexually assaulting two\u200c women in West Virginia. \u200cIn\u200c 2016, he was released from prison 27 years after\u2064 a court found he\u200c had\u2063 been wrongfully convicted.<\/p>\n<p>A new chapter in Gardner\u2019s life had\u2063 begun.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-5767403\/Stacey-Abrams-sister-marrying-wrongly-convicted-man-incarcerated-27-years.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In 2018<\/a>, Gardner married Georgia Federal Judge\u2062 Leslie Abrams Gardner. He lives in Georgia where\u2063 he works \u201cas a motivational speaker and emotional intelligence trainer for students and people who were formerly incarcerated,\u201d according to WINK.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, the new\u200d chapter of Gardner\u2019s\u2064 life seems to be a \u200cstrange retelling of the last\u200b chapter. Once again he is facing prison time for alleged sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p>Gardner\u2062 will have \u200dhis day\u2063 in\u2062 court in Florida. \u200dIt\u2019s more than a\u2062 bit odd he \u2064was the one who\u200c called 911.<\/p>\n<p>It goes without saying: He is innocent until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-man-living-tent-woods-found-guilty-heinous-murders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proven guilty<\/a>. Whatever the case, he\u2019s probably a \u2062bit gun-shy of the \u200dcourt system, having\u200b been wrongfully convicted and spending almost three decades behind bars for a \u200bcrime a court says he did not commit.<\/p>\n<p>Gardner\u200c is\u200d either truly hapless or he has a character flaw when it comes to women.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, it appears\u200d Gardner was alone with a minor \u200cin a motel room in Florida. That\u200d doesn\u2019t look good. Being accused of choking a minor looks even worse.<\/p>\n<p>However it turns out,\u200b it seems like\u200d any 57-year-old man who had spent 27 years in prison on\u2064 charges of sexual assault\u200d would \u2063be \u2064a fool\u200b to\u2062 be alone with\u200c a minor in \u200ba hotel room.\u2064 What\u2019s he \u200cgoing to \u2063tell\u200b the\u2062 court \u2014 \u200dlet \u200calone his wife \u2014 that he was emotionally\u200d training\u2063 the girl?<\/p>\n<p>It looks\u2062 to be a case of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-takes-legal-action-accuser-e-jean-carroll-said-cnn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he said, she said<\/a>\u201c.
