After all, they already know how good and smart they are.\u2062 Instead, they buttress their self-conceit with accusations of bigotry against others.<\/p>\n<p>In an October interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/film\/features\/nia-dacosta-the-marvels-1235785554\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a>, Nia \u200cDaCosta \u2014 31-year-old \u2062director of \u201cThe\u2062 Marvels\u201d \u2014 prepared herself and her fellow woke liberals\u2063 for the film\u2019s impending flop.<\/p>\n<p>Citing pre-release \u200ccriticism of the film by movie fans online, DaCosta described \u201cpockets\u201d of fandom \u200d\u201cthat are really virulent and \u200bviolent and racist \u2014 and sexist and homophobic and all those awful things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Marvels,\u201d starring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/target-humiliates-woke-christmas-decorations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">woke<\/a> actress Brie Larson as Carol Danvers \u2014 aka \u201cCaptain Marvel\u201d \u2014 did indeed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/another-woke-disney-flop-marvels-crashes-6-5-million-opening-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flop<\/a> on its Nov. 10 opening day.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, according to the \u2064entertainment news site\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/11\/the-marvels-opening-global-international-box-office-1235600417\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadline<\/a>, the film\u2019s $110 million global opening amounted to the worst-ever worldwide showing for the Disney-owned Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n<p>According to Variety, DaCosta was the first black woman ever \u200cto direct an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disneys-captain-america-4-featuring-israeli-superhero-possibly-delayed-fears-offending-palestinians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MCU<\/a> film.<\/p>\n<p>That,\u200d of course, had nothing to do with the movie\u2019s dreadful performance. In fact, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2023\/11\/15\/the-marvels-director-freaks-on-racist-sexist-homophobic-haters-but-the-flops-largest-group-of-ticket-buyers-is-male-and-white\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breitbart<\/a>, the largest segment \u2063of ticket buyers for \u201cThe Marvels\u201d happened to be white \u2064males.<\/p>\n<p>So\u2062 what gives?\u2063 How should we account for this tremendous \u2062flop?<\/p>\n<p>Well, the\u2064 woke\u2063 liberal executives at Disney have \u200bmade <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/woke-broke-no-lessons-learned-disney-marvel-director-reveals-future-plans-mcu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no secret<\/a> of the fact that \u2063they prioritize \u201cdiversity.\u201d\u200b And audiences despise that. It could not be simpler.<\/p>\n<p>The question of why audiences despise filmmakers who prioritize \u200cdiversity, however, requires an explanation. After all, woke liberals \u2014 either \u200cfrom stubbornness or conceit \u2014 continually and perhaps deliberately misunderstand.<\/p>\n<p>Take \u201cThe \u200dMarvels,\u201d for instance. The story \u200dfocuses on three female characters: Danvers, Monica Rambeau and Kamala\u2062 Khan,\u200b aka \u201cMs. Marvel.\u201d They are, of course, suitably diverse.<\/p>\n<p>According to Variety, the film \u201cmakes good on the promise of \u2018Avengers: Endgame\u2019 and its six-second sequence in the fight against Thanos where all the MCU\u2019s super-women rally behind Captain Marvel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Remembering that \u201csuper-women\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jZgnTykvyR8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scene<\/a> \u2064from 2019\u2019s \u201cAvengers: Endgame,\u201d and recalling Disney\u2019s \u201cdiversity\u201d objective, I do not need to know anything \u2064else about \u201cThe Marvels.\u201d I will not watch it.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2063 will not watch it, in fact, because \u2064I will not pay to have filmmakers showcase their own presumed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/29-years-ago-rush-limbaugh-nailed-woke-virtue-signaling-using-ribbons-couldnt-fitting-today\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtue<\/a>. That \u2062scene from \u201cEndgame\u201d had no other purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to that scene, of \u2064course, \u200bit never occurred to me that female superheroes could not \u2063use\u2064 their imaginary superpowers as well as male\u200d superheroes could use\u2062 theirs. The filmmakers, however, must have assumed that I did think \u2063that way. Otherwise, that dramatic assembling of female superheroes \u2014 which felt as forced as could be \u2014 added nothing to the film.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, if\u2063 Disney \u200dwants a lesson in \u2064doing things right, it could look to one \u200bof its own examples.<\/p>\n<p>In the Season 2 finale of \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d \u2014 part of Disney\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disney-disaster-popular-star-wars-project-shelved-indefinitely-evidence-wiped-off-internet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Star Wars<\/a>\u201d franchise\u200d \u2014 four capable female warriors fought their \u2063way onto an enemy starship.\u00a0 The difference \u200bbetween that scene and the\u200c one from \u201cEndgame?\u201d No\u200d one made a point of highlighting the fact that those four \u201cStar Wars\u201d women were, in fact, women.<\/p>\n<p>And the scene worked. In fact, as one female <a href=\"https:\/\/decider.com\/2020\/12\/18\/the-mandalorian-season-2-finale-all-female-takeover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reviewer<\/a> put it, \u201call four were playing characters who had specific reasons for being on that ship that went beyond trite\u2062 \u2018girl power\u2019 tropes.\u2062 It wasn\u2019t about making a meme-ready feel-good moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Above all,\u2062 as \u200dsomeone who grew up watching <a href=\"https:\/\/avp.fandom.com\/wiki\/Ellen_Ripley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ellen Ripley<\/a> \u2014 Sigourney Weaver\u2019s butt-kicking\u2063 and name-taking female lead character in \u200cthe 1980s blockbuster \u201cAlien\u201d movie franchise \u2014 I grow tired of \u2063woke Gen-Z types who think they\u2062 must instruct the world.<\/p>\n<p>In short, we care nothing about\u2062 skin color or chromosomes. Give us a good story, and we will watch. But show humility while doing it. If you prioritize \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dont-call-christmas-tree-city-raise-multi-faith-tree-diversity-inclusivity-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">diversity<\/a>,\u201d then you prioritize showcasing your own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-city-in-crisis-mode-after-getting-what-they-asked-for\/\" title=\"New York City in Crisis Mode After Getting What They Asked For\">perceived moral superiority<\/a>. Audiences are not impressed by\u2064 forced diversity and tokenism. They see through it and reject it.<\/p>\n<p>What audiences want are captivating stories and relatable characters. They don\u2019t care about the gender\u200b or ethnicity of the characters as long as they are well-developed and interesting. But\u2064 woke liberals fail\u200d to understand this simple concept.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, they rely on identity\u200b politics, pushing their agenda of diversity and representation above all else. This \u200capproach not only alienates a significant portion of the audience but also compromises the\u2062 quality of the storytelling.<\/p>\n<p>The obsession with diversity has led\u2063 to \u200bmany subpar\u200d films and television shows. Rather than focusing on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/war-against-the-deep-state\/\" title=\"Deep State's Battle\">creating compelling narratives<\/a>, filmmakers try to \u200dcheck boxes and meet quotas. This approach inevitably results in contrived plots, shallow characters, and overall lackluster storytelling.<\/p>\n<p>Woke liberals need\u2062 to realize\u2062 that true diversity \u2064goes beyond skin color and gender.\u200b It\u2064 is about representing a range of experiences, perspectives, and ideas. \u2062It is about telling stories that resonate with all audiences, regardless\u2063 of their background.<\/p>\n<p>If filmmakers want to create successful and impactful works, they should focus on quality, authenticity, and creativity. \u200cThey\u2063 should strive\u2064 to tell stories that connect \u200bwith people on a deeper level, rather\u2064 than relying\u2062 on\u200b superficial gimmicks.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the day,\u200c audiences \u2062want to be entertained and\u200b moved. They want films that make them think, feel, and reflect. The \u200csuccess of a film should be measured by its ability to captivate \u2063and engage viewers, not\u200d by\u200b how many diversity boxes it checks.<\/p>\n<p>So, to all the woke liberals out there, take\u2063 a moment to reflect on your approach. Instead\u200c of blaming audiences for not appreciating your \u200b\u201cprogressive\u201d agenda, consider \u200bthat maybe it&#8217;s your storytelling and execution \u200cthat is lacking.<\/p>\n<p>There is \u200dno shame in embracing diversity and \u200drepresentation; on the contrary, it\u200d is necessary and important.
