Waterloo High School launched an \u200dinvestigation into \u2062these\u2063 students, as \u200dpreviously reported\u2062 by The Daily Wire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In an email to a \u200cgroup of GSA Illinois advisors,\u2063 the advisor of the Waterloo &#8220;Diversity&#8221; club\u2062 wrote,\u200c &#8220;Usually, our meetings are open. \u2064Unfortunately, some of the\u200d main players who are in favor of keeping transgender students\u200d out \u2064of the bathrooms are students who have been coming to meetings \u2064under the guise \u2063of support for our queer kids.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The teacher sought advice on how to handle the situation, asking, &#8220;Do\u200b any of you have experience with monitoring\u200c who can and who cannot \u200cattend \u200bmeetings?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A \u200dfaculty member \u2063from the Champaign School District \u2064responded,\u200d suggesting that the club\u2063 establish guidelines to remove students or close meetings.\u200c They\u200b advised, &#8220;Just say to non-normal attenders, \u2062&#8217;We are continuing a \u200cproject\/working on an initiative\/Planning for something with our current members only today. Therefore, we kindly\u200b request that those who\u2063 have opposing views \u200brefrain from attending our meetings.'&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While\u2063 it is understandable that the teacher and advisor may have been frustrated with the \u2063critics \u2063of the school&#8217;s bathroom policy, their proposed \u2063exclusionary actions raise concerns\u2064 about their ability to promote diversity and inclusion.\u2062 As educators, \u2062it is vital to foster an environment where \u200bdifferent opinions and perspectives are \u200drespected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Schools are meant to be\u2063 places where students can learn, grow,\u2064 and engage in meaningful discussions.
