I\u2019m there to\u200b document.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>About the knife\u2064 he was shown on video to be carrying, Sullivan \u200dsaid he didn\u2019t \u201cremembering bring a knife specifically,\u201d\u2063 and \u200dthat wasn\u2019t \u201csure if that\u2019s a knife\u201d in the video.<\/p>\n<p>Some of that video, KSTU reported, also showed him encouraging the crowd \u2063and was used against\u200c him\u200c in his trial.<\/p>\n<p>Sullivan later sold some \u2062of his footage, including the\u200c shooting\u200d death of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt to media outlets for\u2062 $90,000, according to \u200cthe outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt does \u2064not matter whether Sullivan was holding a camera to record his crimes. He incited the mob at \u200devery step. He knew why he\u2064 was there \u2063that day. He wanted to tear it all down,\u201d Assistant U.S.\u2063 Attorney Michael \u2064Barclay told jurors during \u2062closing \u2062arguments, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/doj-accuses-left-wing-activist-inciting-trump-supporters-jan-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything that came out of \u2064his mouth was a ploy,\u201d Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebekah \u2062Lederer said during the trial.<\/p>\n<p>Lederer\u200d said the only thing more\u2062 offensive than \u2064Sullivan\u2019s dishonest \u200cclaims was \u200dhis \u201crequest \u200bfor you to believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe came to engage in \u200dchaos,\u201d Lederer argued.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors \u200cagreed,\u200d taking only\u2062 a\u2063 few hours to deliberate\u200b before \u200breturning\u2062 the guilty \u200cverdicts Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Some conservatives, including former New York \u2064City Mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/feisty-giuliani-wants-house-lead-counsel-biden-impeachment-let-question\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rudy Giuliani<\/a>, claimed that Sullivan was a Black\u2064 Lives Matter\u200b member who \u200dwas in\u200d D.C. \u200don January 6\u2062 in hopes of stirring up\u200c trouble, according \u200bto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/dc-md-va\/2023\/11\/16\/john-sullivan-convicted-jan-6-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>BLM in Sullivan\u2019s\u2062 home state of Utah, however, \u200ddenied that he was affiliated with the\u2064 group and encouraged\u2064 its members to avoid him, calling him a grifter.<\/p>\n<p>Sullivan will be held in custody\u2062 until his\u200b sentencing hearing.
