Despite efforts by national \u200cDemocrats to overhaul the nominating calendar, \u200bNew Hampshire\u200c remains committed to its tradition and state law.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;New Hampshire has a tradition, and New\u200b Hampshire has a \u200dlaw, and both the\u2064 tradition and the law were going to be followed no\u200d matter what,&#8221; Secretary\u200c of State David Scanlan\u2063 said. &#8220;In today&#8217;s society, it seems that we are quick to eliminate traditions and ignore them. But I would like \u2062to\u2062 think\u200b that 100 years from now, the people of this country will\u2063 really be glad that we kept this one.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Republican \u2063primaries will \u200ckick off with the Iowa caucus on January \u200b15,\u2064 2024. Eight \u200bdays later, New Hampshire&#8217;s primary will provide a\u2062 crucial opportunity \u200cfor GOP candidates to prove their \u2064competitiveness against former President\u200d Donald Trump, who is currently the \u200cfront-runner for \u2063the party&#8217;s nomination. Former \u200bNew Jersey Gov.\u200c Chris Christie has\u2063 strategically placed New Hampshire\u2064 at the center \u2064of his campaign.<\/p>\n<p>On the Democratic side, Iowa&#8217;s caucus will also take place on January 15, 2024.
