Indeed, our citizens \u2063have an interest in hearing from major political candidates in that election,\u201d the brief declared. \u201cThe Order threatens the States\u2019 interests by infringing on \u200cPresident Trump\u2019s free speech right.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Chutkan\u2019s gag\u2062 order, first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/federal-judge-hits-trump-partial-gag-order-jack-smiths-request\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">issued\u200d Oct. 16<\/a>,\u200b is \u200bostensibly \u200daimed at preventing Trump from presenting a danger\u200b to \u2063the \u201cfair administration of justice,\u201d as\u200d Chutkan put \u200cit in a\u2064 ruling \u200dfrom the bench, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/judge-hear-arguments-proposed-trump-gag-order-jan\/story?id=103963458\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An appeals court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/federal-appeals-court-hands-trump-win-pauses-gag-order-election-interference-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paused the gag order<\/a> on Nov.\u200d 4, pending\u2062 a\u2062 full hearing on the topic scheduled for Nov. 20, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycallernewsfoundation.org\/2023\/11\/15\/states-file-brief-opposing-trumps-gag-order-our-citizens-have-an-interest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Caller<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dems-include-money-for-abortion-providers-in-1-9-trillion-covid-aid-package\/\" title=\"Dems Include Money for Abortion Providers in .9 Trillion COVID Aid Package\">state attorneys general<\/a> who signed onto \u200cthe\u2063 friend of the\u2064 court \u200dbrief \u2064are all \u200dRepublicans, but the issue is far from\u200d partisan.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/wvrecord.com\/stories\/652101532-morrisey-other-gop-ags-file-brief-opposing-federal-court-gag-order-on-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> Tuesday, Morrissey said the\u200d order\u200d conflicts with the foundational American right of free political discourse. He noted that even the \u200bAmerican Civil \u2064Liberties Union \u2063has taken a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/aclu-begrudgingly-sides-trump-federal-court-rare-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stand against the order<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The ACLU is supposedly dedicated to fighting for \u2064constitutionally\u2063 guaranteed \u200cfreedoms\u200d \u2014 and \u2064even occasionally lives up to that billing. But the\u200b reality \u2064is, it\u2019s been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/big-tech-censors-half-america-aclu-instead-makes-stand-put-men-womens-sports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disgracefully \u2063leftist<\/a> in its orientation for a \u2063generation\u200b or more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not just about Trump saying what he wants to say;\u200c it\u2019s\u200c about protecting our constitutional right to free speech,\u201d Morrissey said in the statement. \u201cAnd when political foes \u200cjoin\u2064 in a common\u2064 defense, you \u2063know \u200cthere\u2019s something there:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ACLU, an\u200b organization \u200con the opposite side of the GOP\u2019s political spectrum, has sided with Trump in a brief arguing (among other\u200d things) \u2018the gag order currently \u200din \u200cplace is insufficiently justified since it has not shown a \u200bserious\u2064 threat that the \u2064speech it prohibits \u200bwill\u2062 threaten the administration of justice.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But\u2063 what is serious is the \u2064threat the gag \u200border\u200b presents to \u2062the \u2062American system of government.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is, far and \u200daway,\u2064 the biggest individual political challenge to President Joe Biden and his administration, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bad-news-biden-trump-showing-sizable-leads-multiple-2024-battleground-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">biggest challenge<\/a> to Biden\u2019s re-election in \u200b2024.<\/p>\n<p>What is \u2062taking place with the legal warfare against \u200dhim being waged\u200b by Democrats\u2064 in New York \u2064and Georgia at the state level and in Florida \u200band the District of Columbia by special counsel Jack Smith amounts to political prosecution on behalf \u2063of a partisan \u200cregime.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s especially true of the D.C. \u2062trial, where Trump is\u2063 charged with four\u200c felony counts \u200drelated to his challenges to\u200c the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>No honest person \u2014 Democrat or Republican \u2014 can deny\u200c that.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats, however, either cynically pretend to believe, or may have even convinced themselves, that Trump is somehow a threat to the country in a way that an evidently corrupt Biden\u2064 administration\u2063 \u2014\u200d helped into office by a dishonest intelligence community and in hock\u200b to foreign powers \u2014 is not.<\/p>\n<p>They have the establishment media on their \u2064side, of course. \u200dThe\u2064 news organizations that waged relentless\u200c war on \u200bthe Trump \u2064administration for four years\u200b can hardly be expected to admit their \u2062nearly criminal dishonesty now.<\/p>\n<p>They have the cultural \u200binfluence of Hollywood on their side, along with social media \u200dgiants, universities, \u200cand obscenely\u200d wealthy leftists like George Soros.<\/p>\n<p>And in Tanya Chutkan, \u200dthey have \u200ba judge on their side who\u2063 has \u200dmade her biases against Trump as clear as any judge\u2019s\u2063 have \u2063been against \u200ca defendant since Salem \u2064in the\u200c 1690s.<\/p>\n<p>As Morrissey said in his statement, Chutkan\u2019s order helps only the Biden administration<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe judge\u2019s approach for the \u2063gag order ignores the fact that the government\u2019s case\u200c is political to \u2064the core \u2014 it\u2019s obvious the\u2062 other side is stopping at nothing\u2063 to silence Biden\u2019s political opponent,\u201d\u200b Morrisey said.<\/p>\n<p>So what Trump and his supporters\u200c have is the ability to appeal to the judiciary.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no guarantee of how the appeals court will rule. And there\u2019s no guarantee that the attorney generals\u2019 friend of the court brief will sway the decision.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s no denying that the document \u200chelps the Trump \u2064cause. Democrats and their pet prosecutors would like nothing better than to keep \u2063Trump\u2019s D.C. trial an\u2062 inside-the-Beltway circus as \u200dmuch as possible.<\/p>\n<p>There, they have \u2062a jury being drawn from voting rolls in a jurisdiction that went for\u2063 Biden in 2020 by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/election\/2020\/results\/state\/district-of-columbia\/president\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">92 percent<\/a>.
