I was unsure of what to do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I must admit, abortion was \u200bthe first thought that crossed\u2063 my \u2064mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fortunately, my close relationship with my mother led me to <a href=\"https:\/\/newlifeadopt.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">New Life Adoption<\/span><\/a>, where a \u2064compassionate social \u2064worker discussed all my options, including adoption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Abortion seemed like a\u200b quick fix, but as I\u2062 pondered \u2064on \u2062it, I realized its irreversible consequences. The child growing\u2064 inside me \u2062was here,\u200b right now. Abortion would not only \u2064take him \u200daway from me, but it\u200d would also extinguish his \u200dlife forever. There would be no turning back.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the other hand, adoption would give me more time to consider my options and ensure that I\u2063 wouldn&#8217;t have to embrace the parenting role I\u200d didn&#8217;t feel ready \u2062for.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eventually, it became clear\u200c that\u2062 adoption was \u2063the right path.\u200b With the support of\u200b my \u2063family, New Life Adoption, and \u200cmy\u200b friends, I\u200c found the courage to choose \u200dit. From that moment, everything fell into place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After going through numerous family profile books provided \u2062by\u200d New Life, I agreed to \u2062meet with some close family friends who had also adopted a child through the\u2064 agency. \u2064Their vulnerable story of \u2062loss and their journey touched my\u2062 heart. While\u200d I could never replace the\u200d babies they lost,\u200b I found \u2063comfort \u2064in knowing that I could add a second \u200bbeautiful life to their family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Every \u2063birth mother I&#8217;ve encountered\u2063 has shared the\u2062 same \u200csentiment &#8211; when they\u2063 met the right family, it just clicked. That&#8217;s exactly how\u200d it was with our \u2064family friends. It was a moment of overwhelming relief, certainty, \u2063and\u200b peace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I knew that the pregnancy journey was \u200bjust as important \u2063to \u200dmy \u200dson&#8217;s adoptive parents as it was\u2064 to \u200bme. I wanted them to build a \u200dspecial connection with him\u200d from the \u200dstart, \u200dso I asked if they \u200cwould choose his name. They chose &#8220;James,&#8221; a family name for both of us, \u200das his middle name.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Deep down,\u200c I had \u2062always thought &#8220;Samuel&#8221; would be the perfect name for him, but I didn&#8217;t want to pressure them. So, when his\u2063 adoptive\u200b parents suggested the name &#8220;Samuel James,&#8221; I\u200b knew\u200b they were the right\u200c parents for him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Samuel&#8217;s\u200b adoptive family was there with me in\u2062 the\u200b hospital as I gave birth. I\u2064 witnessed his mom&#8217;s tears \u200dof joy as she\u200c looked at her son for the first time,\u200d and\u2063 with my permission, she even snipped his umbilical cord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Before labor and delivery, I had\u2062 feared what \u200bit would be like to place\u200d my child\u2064 with\u200c someone else and go \u2062home to an empty house. But seeing \u2064the completeness of \u200cthe family in front of me calmed my fears. This wouldn&#8217;t have been possible if I had chosen\u200c abortion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thanks to the support I received\u2064 from my family,\u2062 friends, and New Life Adoption, I felt \u200bpeace as \u200cI walked through my front door after leaving the hospital.\u2063 Choosing life and finding the perfect family for my son&#8217;s future made me feel more fulfilled than\u200d ever before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Although I recently moved away for work, Samuel&#8217;s joy in the world is palpable\u2062 even from \u2064thousands of miles away.
