Marjorie Taylor Greene has\u2064 taken action against Mayorkas \u200bby filing an impeachment resolution, \u200bciting &#8220;high crimes and misdemeanors&#8221; in connection with his handling of illegal immigration in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>One example of the\u2064 excessive costs mentioned in \u200dthe \u200breport is\u200b the total \u200dMedicaid expenses \u2064for &#8220;emergency\u200c services for undocumented aliens,&#8221; which surpassed $7 billion \u2062in fiscal year 2021 and exceeded $5.4 billion \u2062in fiscal year \u200b2022, according to data from the Centers for Medicare and \u200cMedicaid Services.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It \u200dis morally unacceptable\u2064 that American taxpayer dollars should be funneled \u2062to those who violate our laws and demand expansive, taxpayer-funded\u200c benefits like education, health care, \u200dhousing, and \u200dmore. Many\u200c of these individuals will likely represent a drain on American society for\u2064 the remainder of their days in the United States, \u200cconstantly \u200dabsorbing\u200b more benefits from the state than they ever contribute\u2014to say nothing \u2063of the fact that they\u2063 have no lawful basis to remain in the country to begin with,&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The\u200b committee&#8217;s report concludes as part\u2063 of its fourth phase of investigation into Mayorkas. A\u2064 vote on Greene&#8217;s impeachment resolution is expected to\u200d take place within two \u200clegislative days of its introduction. Mayorkas is also scheduled \u2063to appear before the committee on Wednesday, alongside FBI Director Chris Wray \u2064and \u200dNational Counterterrorism Center \u2062Director \u2063Christine Abizaid.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Mayorkas&#8217;\u2062 policies have enabled \u200bthis mass waste and abuse \u200cof taxpayer resources.
