Joe Manchin (D-WV) is taking his show on the road.<\/h2>\n<p>Manchin, who was widely viewed as the most vulnerable\u200c incumbent in the Senate this cycle, \u2062said on Thursday that he would travel the country in hopes of unifying the nation\u2019s divided political wings \u2064instead of running\u200d for reelection. That decision, which followed months of speculation about\u200d Manchin\u2019s political\u2063 future, prompted \u200bfresh questions\u200c about the possibility of his 2024 plans including a presidential bid.<\/p>\n<h2>WHAT MANCHIN&#8217;S RETIREMENT MEANS FOR PERMITTING REFORM AND THE ENERGY COMMITTEE<\/h2>\n<p>The\u2063 West \u200bVirginia Democrat wasted\u200c no time adding fuel to that fire, appearing at \u2063an \u2062event focused on political civility \u200cin the swing state of \u200dGeorgia on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organized to celebrate the launch of the University\u2062 of Georgia&#8217;s Isakson\u2064 Symposium on Political Civility, named for the\u2063 late\u200b Sen. Roy \u2062Blunt\u2063 praised Isakson\u2019s commitment \u2064to reaching across the aisle and \u2062searching for common political ground, something the \u2063outgoing senator \u200chas cited \u2063as \u2064a reason to bow\u2064 out of what would\u2019ve been an expensive and competitive reelection bid.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t get involved in \u2064politics because of \u2064party\u2064 affiliation,\u201d<\/strong> he said at the event. <strong>\u201cI got \u200dinvolved in the\u2064 political process because I wanted to \u2062change \u200cthings\u200b and \u200ddo \u200bthings. In our system of government, in our \u200bdemocracy, you have a duopoly, so you only have\u200d two paths really.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Manchin demurred when asked on stage about what\u2064 his \u200bdecision \u200dto \u200bnot run for reelection meant for his 2024 plans, though he said in an \u2062interview afterward\u200b that \u2064 <strong>\u201cI\u2019m so concerned about our country, my quest \u200cis: How do we save the nation? Manchin has fiercely defended\u200d plans from the \u200dcentrist group\u200c No Labels to create a third<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-manchin-hits-the-road-to-save-the-nation-amid-2024-speculation\/\" title=\"Joe Manchin hits the road to 'save the nation' amid 2024 speculation\">-party presidential ticket \u200camid sustained speculation<\/a> that he could be their nominee.<\/p>\n<p>Former Maryland Gov.\u2064 Larry Hogan, a centrist Republican, said early Thursday that No Labels would reach a decision about running someone in the 2024\u200d contest around Super Tuesday, which \u2062takes place on March 5.<\/p>\n<p>For its\u200c part, No Labels praised Manchin as \u200da <strong>&#8220;tireless voice\u200b for America\u2019s commonsense majority&#8221;<\/strong> in reaction to his Thursday announcement.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cRegarding our No Labels \u200cUnity presidential \u200bticket, we are gathering \u200cinput from our members across \u2064the country to understand the\u200d kind of leaders they \u200cwould like to see in the White House,&#8221;<\/strong> it continued. <strong>&#8220;As we have said from the beginning, \u2062we \u2064will make a \u200cdecision by early 2024 about whether we will nominate a Unity presidential ticket and who will be on it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Manchin \u200chas been associated with No Labels for over \u200ca decade.
