Version: 4.0.47--><h2>Tucker Carlson Received Call \u200cfrom Elon Musk on Day Fox News\u2062 Fired Him<\/h2>\n<p>It must have been a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-defeated-will-withdraw-gun-grabbers-atf-nomination-report\/\" title=\"Biden, Defeated, Will Withdraw Gun-Grabber\u2019s ATF Nomination: Report\">crushing blow<\/a> for Tucker \u200dCarlson when he \u2064was called into the Fox News executive offices last April and informed he \u2062was fired,\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/siriusxm-pandora-cmt-iheartradio-pull-morgan-wallen-music-following-n-word-video-recorded-by-neighbor\/\" title=\"SiriusXM, Pandora, CMT, iHeartRadio Pull Morgan Wallen Music Following N-Word Video Recorded By Neighbor\">effective immediately<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But it also must have\u200c been encouraging for Carlson to see how many people jumped to his defense, publicly criticizing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fox-news-cuts-away-trump-speech-4-seconds-says-tucker-carlson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox<\/a> for the move\u200d and offering encouragement\u200c and support.<\/p>\n<p>Especially when one of \u200dthose well-wishers was one of the richest and most influential people in the world: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-doj-puts-elon-musk-crosshairs-coming-twitter-earlier-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2O2gg2guge4&#038;t=7399s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visit<\/a> with comedian and podcaster Theo Von on\u200d \u201cThis Past \u2063Weekend,\u201d Carlson told the host about a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-kelly-same-people-criticizing-trump-peddled-russia-collusion-hoax\/\" title=\"Mike Kelly: Same People Criticizing Trump Peddled Russia Collusion Hoax\">phone call<\/a> \u200che received from Musk on the day \u200bhe got the boot from Fox.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tucker-carlson-received-call-from-elon-musk-on-day-fox-news-fired-him\/\" title=\"Tucker Carlson Received Call from Elon Musk on Day Fox News Fired Him\">wide-ranging interview stretched<\/a> across 2 1\/2 hours, covering \u201clife after Fox News, his new \u2063show on X, \u200bhow to find truth in journalism, the \u2062struggle for\u200c power\u2063 in America, sobriety stories,\u2064 the debate around \u200bRFK Jr., wild \u2064Greyhound bus trips, smoking cigs with teachers, and\u2063 much\u2062 more,\u201d according \u200bto the show\u2062 notes.<\/p>\n<p>Von broached \u200cthe subject of his abrupt exit from Fox by congratulating\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fox-news-doesnt-just-want-tucker-gone-network-wants-erased-company-carlsons-biographer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlson<\/a> on getting \u201cout of the system\u201d and onto \u200dTwitter.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson quickly \u2063corrected him.\u00a0\u201cI was expelled from the system,\u201d he reminded the host, with\u200b his characteristic chuckle.\u2062 They bantered a bit about \u201ccutbacks\u201d and \u201cdownsizing\u201d \u200cbefore Carlson\u2063 got a little more serious, recalling the details of that day.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI was thrown out, and Elon called me the\u200c day that my show \u2063was canceled \u2026 and \u2062I was grateful that he did,\u201d Carlson told Von.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHe called you,\u2064 huh?\u201d the host repeated, sounding impressed. \u201cHad you spoken to him before?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlson said he had, \u200c\u201cAnd I really liked him, and I\u2019m not a technology person, to put it \u200bmildly \u2014\u200c like, at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAll\u200d [Elon] said \u2063was, \u2064I\u2019m going to keep the platform open, you know, and people with\u2062 differing views, whether [I] agree with them or not, \u2064are welcome on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd that\u2019s the guarantee that I wanted and needed, and\u200c so I\u2019ve been super grateful,\u201d Carlson said, emphasizing that he is not\u2063 employed by Musk for his show, \u201cTucker on X.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean that\u2019s\u2064 all I\u2019ve ever \u2062wanted, by the way, is to \u2026 I have made some money, but never got crazy rich, \u200cbut I never wanted to. That wasn\u2019t my goal \u200dat all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The discussion then veered into the topics of wealth,\u2063 greed and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rfk-jr-tells-carlson-inflation-tax-caused-us-printing-trillions-dollars-hurting-vulnerable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">capitalism<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, I guess I would like \u2062to be richer,\u201d\u200c Carlson said. \u200b\u201cI \u2062don\u2019t know what I would do with\u2063 it, exactly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Von interjected that desire for wealth \u201calmost looks like a sickness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlson picked up on that line of reasoning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe money acquisition thing?\u201d he asked. \u201cThere was a \u2063name for that, actually, historically, \u200bit was called \u2018greed,\u2019 and then, somewhere along the \u2062line, we, like,\u2062 decided you weren\u2019t allowed\u2063 to complain about greed \u2026 because you\u2019re against capitalism.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson warmed\u2062 up to that subject.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all, there is no capitalism in\u200c the\u200c United States,\u201d\u2062 he \u200bsaid. \u200c\u201cThere\u2019s no free \u200dmarket, OK? \u2063The government controls everything. You can\u2019t have a business without \u2064intersecting with government, and the\u200b government is used \u200cby businesses to create monopolies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo there\u2019s \u200dno <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-supporters-free-market-system-need-attend-davos-not-just-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free market<\/a>, so\u200c let\u2019s stop lying about that. Second, I am not against capitalism \u2014\u2063 I\u2019m for competition.
