Marsha Blackburn confirmed \u2063to the \u200bcommittee that\u200c she \u200dfiled several of the amendments including one to subpoena Justice Sotomayor&#8217;s staff over her book-selling scandal.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<p>Blackburn noted that &#8220;since we&#8217;re \u2062in the business \u200cof \u2063issuing\u200d subpoenas,&#8221; Republicans like her plan to subpoena Jeffrey Epstein&#8217;s estate over his flight logs, Department of Health\u2064 and Human Services \u200dSecretary Xavier Becerra to\u2064 explain how\u2062 he lost track of 85,000 migrant children, the Department of Justice over its decision to\u2062 terminate a\u2064 program aimed at rooting\u2062 out \u2062Chinese spies in the U.S., Special Counsel\u2064 Robert Mueller&#8217;s staff over his targeting of former\u200b President\u200c Donald \u200dTrump, and the DOJ and\u2064 Federal Trade\u2064 Commission over their investigation of Elon Musk.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-69ef34de428d56c400e23d9ad62e50d4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-69ef34de428d56c400e23d9ad62e50d4\"><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Our Supreme Court justices, especially Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett, they have been \u200dsubjected to threats on their \u2062lives.\u2062 Their families have\u200b been subjected to \u2064threats on their lives. And yet, \u200cthis is what \u200cyou and Senator Whitehouse are choosing to focus on, is a discrediting\u2063 of the\u2062 court,&#8221;\u2063 Blackburn\u2063 said.\u200c &#8220;We know\u200c what this is about. Marsha Blackburn (@MarshaBlackburn) \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MarshaBlackburn\/status\/1722645062197064177?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 9, 2023<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>When \u2064Durbin adjourned the \u200bcommittee, he vowed\u2064 to &#8220;absolutely&#8221; revive the subpoena fight but did not specify when he plans to do it.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas and Alito&#8217;s friendships with wealthy men are not illegal, nor\u200b did their so-called &#8220;undisclosed lavish gifts and\u200d trips&#8221; \u2064amount to any\u2062 of\u200c the ethics violations outlined in \u2062the Supreme\u2064 Court&#8217;s \u200bcode\u200b of conduct at the time they were received. Yet, Durbin repeatedly claimed that\u200d the\u2064 Supreme Court &#8220;is\u2063 in an \u200cethical crisis of its \u2062own making.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The leftist senators and their\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-democrats-back-off-on-supreme-court-subpoenas-after-gop-calls-bluff\/\" title=\"Senate Democrats Back Off On Supreme Court Subpoenas After GOP Calls Bluff\">dark-money allies leading<\/a> \u2064the \u2064charge against Thomas and Alito \u2064claim the Supreme Court has a &#8220;history of ethical challenges&#8221; that require congressionally mandated, compulsory regulation.\u2064 Their efforts \u200dare aided by a litany of coordinated hit pieces on Thomas, Alito, and Justice \u2063Neil Gorsuch by ProPublica (which attacks conservatives 23 times more often than Democrats), \u200cPolitico, and other corporate media outlets.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-96c21b478a0be5844470ba23aa7dc56b fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-96c21b478a0be5844470ba23aa7dc56b\"><\/div>\n<p>Durbin claimed during Thursday&#8217;s meeting that &#8220;the committee has not\u200b engaged in a vendetta against conservatives&#8221; and &#8220;is not seeking the subpoena\u2063 authorization\u2064 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/knowles-the-bad-faith-debate-over-cancel-culture\/\" title=\"KNOWLES: The Bad Faith Debate Over \u2018Cancel Culture\u2019\">score political points<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What he did not mention is that Democrats like he and Sheldon \u200bWhitehouse \u200donly became interested in the &#8220;ethics&#8221; of SCOTUS because it was politically and personally strategic\u200d for their party to\u200d target \u2064the conservative-controlled court. He also did not \u2063acknowledge that \u2064Democrat-nominated justices have a whole\u2063 host of \u2062decades-old violations that are worth probing but have\u2063 been \u200breadily ignored by the senators\u2064 and the media.<\/p>\n<p>During a committee hearing on the subpoenas last\u200b week, Republicans called out Democrats&#8217; partisan \u2063scheming \u200dfor being a transparent effort to undermine and delegitimize the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Chuck Grassley warned that the \u2062Supreme Court &#8220;is an independent branch of government NOT a political punching bag.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Their sudden concern for \u2064ethics conveniently coincided with \u2064the appointment of conservative justices to the Supreme Court, which\u2063 upset their liberal agenda.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats&#8217; efforts to undermine the \u2062Supreme \u200dCourt are part of a larger strategy to\u200d consolidate their power and\u2062 push through their agenda, regardless of what the American people want or what the Constitution allows. They \u200care using\u200d any means necessary to achieve their goals, including weaponizing the committee process \u2063to intimidate and\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-captured-recruiting-at-pride-event\/\" title=\"FBI Caught Recruiting at 'Pride' Gathering\">harass private citizens<\/a> who have\u2063 connections to conservative justices.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 decision to table the vote to subpoena Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo\u2064 is\u2063 a small setback for the Democrats, \u200cbut it does not mean that their efforts are over. Chairman Durbin has made it clear that he plans to revive the subpoena \u2062fight\u200d in \u200bthe future.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to \u2062understand the real motive \u200cbehind the \u200bDemocrats&#8217; actions. They \u2062claim to be concerned \u2062about ethics and transparency, but their true goal\u200d is to discredit and delegitimize the Supreme Court in order \u2064to\u200d advance their own political agenda. They are\u2063 willing to trample \u200bon the rights\u2062 and reputations of innocent individuals\u200b to achieve \u2063their goals.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d Republican amendments filed\u200c by\u2062 Senator Marsha Blackburn and others \u2062seek to\u200c redirect \u200cthe committee&#8217;s focus towards \u200clegitimate oversight\u2064 and away from \u200bthe Democrats&#8217; partisan vendetta. These amendments\u2064 highlight the hypocrisy of the \u200bDemocrats and \u200btheir selective \u2063outrage. If they are truly concerned about ethics and transparency, they \u200bshould \u2062be \u2063willing to\u200c investigate a wide range of issues, not just those that conveniently align with their political \u200cagenda.<\/p>\n<p>The attacks on conservative justices and the Supreme Court as a \u2062whole are unwarranted and dangerous. Justices Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett have dedicated their careers to upholding the Constitution \u2064and interpreting the law.\u200d They deserve our\u200d respect and support, not baseless\u2062 accusations and attempts to \u200cundermine their integrity.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats&#8217; campaign against the Supreme Court is a direct threat to\u2062 the independence of our judiciary \u200band the\u200b rule of law.
