But in doing so last\u200d weekend, he did the same thing that pretty much\u2063 every other Democrat has \u200ddone. Which is to say, he\u200c refused\u200c to acknowledge the party\u2019s real problem.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>The\u200b Real Problem: Kamala \u2062Harris<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The real problem isn\u2019t Biden.\u200d It\u2019s Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1821858121\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4938c433cdb958565d378da0c034f8fc fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4938c433cdb958565d378da0c034f8fc\"><\/div>\n<p>Biden is certainly borderline\u2064 comatose, his brain a clump of blackened\u2063 rot, but I truly believe \u2062there are enough synapses still flickering inside for him to\u200d be\u200d aware that\u2063 he can\u2019t and\u2063 shouldn\u2019t be running for a second \u2062term. He knows \u200bhe\u2019s too old. He knows\u200d his tenure has \u2064been a \u200dwreck. And he knows \u200bthat with each\u2064 passing day he\u2019s in office, nothing\u2062 is getting better,\u2064 and everything is getting worse.<\/p>\n<p>But what he also knows is if he\u2063 says he withdraws from the campaign, the only option party leadership\u2062 has is to back \u200chis vice president. What\u2019s the\u2064 opposite \u2062of \u201cbrilliant\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, there would technically be \u200cother, better options, like Gavin Newsom\u200b or \u200beven Dean\u200c Phillips, who is\u200b formally running against Biden. But that\u2019s\u200b not how national party politics works. It works by protecting incumbents. Or,\u200c in the event that there isn\u2019t one, \u2064backing the next best thing. \u2063As vice president, that\u2019s Harris.<\/p>\n<p>Compounding the problem is that Harris is one\u200d of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/only-kamala-harris-can-save-democrats-in-2024\/\" title=\"Only Kamala Harris Can Save Democrats In 2024\">precious affirmative action hires<\/a>, shielded from criticism by nature of being not\u200c just a woman but a Woman of Color\u2122\ufe0f. To deny her ascent would be to go against everything Democrats profess to believe \u2014 that \u2062nothing is more important than <em>diversity, equity<\/em> \u2064 and <em>inclusion<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b1f7f12346cd5f7d7b7f095b01497145 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b1f7f12346cd5f7d7b7f095b01497145\"><\/div>\n<p>They\u2019re stuck. Every serious Democrat, including Biden, knows that Harris can\u2019t be their nominee, which, in \u2064effect,\u200b would make her the party\u2019s leader. She doesn\u2019t know anything. She can\u2019t talk. Voters hate her.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the sweetest irony\u200d that the Kamala problem is\u2064 Biden\u2019s\u2064 own doing. He put her on his 2020 ticket after\u200d boxing himself in with\u2064 the promise to elect a woman. And in the\u2062 Year of Patron Saint George\u2062 Floyd, there was no chance it wouldn\u2019t be a black one. (So plain was that fact that even an \u200dunemployed plus-sized black lady from Georgia openly, shamelessly,\u2064 and \u2062repeatedly \u200cput forth herself as \u200dBiden\u2019s\u2064 potential running\u200d mate.)<\/p>\n<p>To \u200dbe fair, it did\u2063 the\u200b trick. Biden won the nomination, and thanks to Harris, \u200bhe satisfied the Jim\u2062 Clyburn-Joy \u2064Reid \u2063faction\u200d of the party, ensuring the high black voter turnout that would be\u200d crucial in landing him on his rickety \u2063knees in the Oval\u2062 Office.<\/p>\n<p>But then\u200b we\u200b got to \u2062see her perform, and, well, let\u2019s just say she\u2019s no Beyonce.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f58894c90218b45f237314e261cb24da fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f58894c90218b45f237314e261cb24da\"><\/div>\n<p>Ultimately, if there \u2063were any way for Biden\u2062 to retire, as\u2063 I\u2019m surer than anything he wants to do, Harris would have to\u2064 be the one \u2062to make\u2064 it happen.
