Primarily, I \u2063was concerned with\u200b his past support of \u200bthe BLM narrative, and his \u2063expressions of outrage over the \u2014\u2062 to\u2063 use his word \u2014 \u201cmurder\u201d of George Floyd. But since then, despite \u2064these serious qualms, the media have been doing everything in\u200d their power to make me like Speaker Johnson.\u200d They\u2019re not doing this on purpose, of course. They are trying to make\u2064 him \u2062look bad. But, as we know,\u200d nothing makes \u2062a person look better \u200cthan when the media tries to make them look \u2063bad. To \u2064that end, they \u200chave\u200d attacked Johnson repeatedly for being\u200c a Christian, socially conservative, and a theocratic fascist. That last description isn\u2019t remotely accurate, \u2064sadly,\u200c but\u2064 when a person is attacked along these lines, \u200bit only\u2064 gives them more \u200dcredibility. Johnson is\u2063 racking up\u2063 lots of credibility this way.<\/p>\n<h3>The Latest Desperate Line of Attack<\/h3>\n<p>The latest crime committed \u200dby the\u200b speaker, according to\u2062 the media and\u2063 the \u200dgaggle \u200cof braindead leftist zombies on Twitter, is\u2063 that \u2014 get this\u200c \u2014 he tried to prevent his \u200bchildren from looking at pornography.\u2062 In the minds of \u2063these porn-crazed\u2063 hyenas, \u2063this is a big problem. It\u2019s an outrage. Mike \u2064Johnson\u2019s attempt to protect his children from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/graphic-sexual-content-assigned-to-texas-students-dissenting-parents-harassed-with-anti-christiandks\/\" title=\"Graphic Sexual Content Assigned To Texas Students; Dissenting Parents Harassed With Anti-Christian\u2026\u2018D**ks\u2019\u00a0\">graphic sexual content<\/a> is one of the \u200cgreat political\u200b scandals \u2064of our time. \u201cWhat kind of freak doesn\u2019t want his kids to watch porn,\u201d they ask incredulously.\u2063 They are pretending that \u2062they don\u2019t understand it. \u2062Or \u2062maybe they \u2062aren\u2019t pretending \u2062at all.<\/p>\n<p>Either \u200cway, this latest \u200bfaux-controversy, like so many faux-controversies before it, starts\u200d with a Rolling Stone article.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/episode\/ep-1257-the-matt-walsh-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WATCH: The Matt Walsh Show<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Rolling Stone\u200b is \u200dan amazing publication in\u2062 a\u2063 certain way. Even amid a media landscape populated almost \u2063entirely by lying,\u2062 scheming, \u200dsoulless parasites, Rolling \u200bStone still\u200c manages\u200c to stand out. They are\u200b the gutter journalists \u200dthat make other gutter journalists cringe. \u200bThis article\u200b is no \u200dexception. And just to give you an idea of \u2064how weak the hit piece is, \u200dyou should know that the entire article is\u200c just\u200c 373 words long. That\u2019s because the article is irrelevant \u2014 they don\u2019t\u2062 spend much time on the story,\u200b because \u200cthere \u200cis no story. They just wanted \u2062to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-news\/mike-johnson-son-monitor-porn-intake-covenant-eyes-1234870634\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">publish this headline<\/a>, \u200dwhich says: \u201cMike Johnson Admits He and \u200cHis Son Monitor\u2063 Each Other\u2019s Porn Intake in \u200dResurfaced Video.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This\u200d framing \u200chas of course been immediately adopted by other\u200b media\u2062 outlets, and hundreds of leftists on social media. Many articles and \u2062posts have repeated it, or a version of it. The Left insists that this supposed revelation is creepy and weird and \u2063gross. They\u2019ve called Johnson a predator, and \u2062so on.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, \u200cif this headline were\u2062 literally true \u2062\u2014 if Rolling\u200c Stone wasn\u2019t a worthless propaganda rag \u2014 then we\u2019d all\u200b have to agree.\u200c Note the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-media-attacks-republican-for-protecting-his-kids-from-porn\/\" title=\"Media criticizes Republican for safeguarding children from pornography.\">carefully \u2063selected phrase \u201cporn intake<\/a>,\u201d which\u200c suggests that \u200dMike Johnson is actively consuming porn and sharing the \u2063material with his son. \u201cPorn \u2062intake\u201d means that \u200bJohnson is a porn viewer\u2064 and his porn \u200cviewing is\u2063 being monitored \u200cby one of his kids.\u2064 In fact, the website Political Wire makes\u200d this claim explicitly. Here\u2019s their headline: \u201cMike\u2064 Johnson Admits\u2063 His Son Monitors His Porn Viewing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This implies \u2014 doesn\u2019t\u2064 imply, \u2063really, but outright claims \u200c\u2014\u2062 that Mike Johnson is actively \u2064watching porn, and the porn is being shared with his \u2063son. If\u2062 that was really \u200dthe case, \u2063then yes it would \u200dbe extremely disgusting, but it\u2063 is \u200dnot the case \u2063at all. \u2062It \u200dis a\u200c slanderous lie by people who are determined\u2064 to make normal, responsible parenting into something bizarre and even\u2064 abusive.<\/p>\n<p>That all becomes\u200d obvious\u2064 if you read the article,\u200b to the extent\u2062 that there even is an article to\u200d read.<\/p>\n<p>Better\u2063 yet\u200d you can \u2063watch the \u201cresurfaced clip\u201d for yourself. The\u200b story is that Mike Johnson \u2063monitor\u2019s\u200d his child\u2019s\u200d internet \u200dusage to make sure that his child is\u200b not\u200c accessing harmful and objectionable material. The app he\u2019s using\u200b \u2014 Covenant Eyes \u2014 also gives his\u200c son \u2064access to the content Johnson is viewing on his own phone. Anyone who isn\u2019t an\u2063 insane idiot immediately understands the point of this latter step. You have to be a perverted\u2062 freak yourself to see it as something perverse.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson is obviously trying to model good behavior for his son. He\u2019s not having his son monitor\u2063 his \u201cporn\u200c intake,\u201d\u2062 because there is no porn intake. The whole point is that Johnson doesn\u2019t look at porn, and he wants his teenage son to know that he doesn\u2019t look at it, because he is trying to be \u2062a role model.\u200b This is called \u200bresponsible parenting. And it may\u2062 be necessary because \u2063Johnson\u2019s teenage son is living in a culture \u2014 same as the rest of us \u2014 \u200bwhere \u200bpeople often claim that everyone \u2014 especially \u200cevery \u2064man \u2014 looks at porn.\u2063 Porn consumption is treated as an inevitability, as if it\u200d is literally \u200bphysically \u200bimpossible \u200dto refrain. It is\u2062 important\u200b for \u200ca \u200bteenage boy to know that this is a lie. It isn\u2019t \u2062true. It <em>is<\/em> \u200d possible to live free from the clutches of porn, and some men are in fact living that way. This would seem to be the point that Johnson\u200d is trying to \u2064make to his son.<\/p>\n<p>I grew\u200b up\u200c in a time before smartphones, but we had a version of this kind \u2064of\u200c system in\u200b my house as a kid. The system was simple. We\u200d had one computer, it was in\u2063 the most public and visible area in \u2063the house, and anyone could see what anyone\u200c else\u200d was \u2064doing if they happened to walk\u200c by. My parents did not\u200c have \u2063their own computer \u200din their \u2062room or\u200b wherever. They used that\u200d one computer because they had nothing to hide, \u200cand they wanted us to know\u2063 that they had nothing to hide. \u2062This is called \u200csetting a good example, which is a \u2063concept utterly foreign to the leftist social media mob.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, these \u2064days it\u2019s not necessarily practical \u2063to have only \u2062one stationary device with internet access to\u2062 be shared by everyone in\u200b the home. Smart\u200d parents, then, look for other ways to practice openness and accountability in cyberspace. Smart parents \u2014 or just smart people in general, parents or not\u2062 \u2014 understand that a\u200d desire for secrecy on the internet \u2014 \u200bwanting\u200b to keep your internet \u200dactivity hidden from your loved\u200b ones \u2063\u2014 \u200dis almost always a sign that you\u2019re \u200cdoing \u200cthings you should not be doing. Things\u200d that are harmful\u2062 to you, and to\u200c your family.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the Left has looked for \u2064other reasons \u2063to object to Johnson\u2019s responsible parenting.<\/p>\n<p>Rolling Stone throws another line \u200bof attack against the wall: \u201cOutside of the creepy Big Brother-ness of it \u2064all, Receipt Maven also aired concerns about whether Covenant Eyes \u2014 \u200bwhich is still a working \u200csubscription-based service \u2014 \u2063might \u2018compromise\u2019 Johnson\u2019s devices, if he\u2019s\u2063 still actively seeking \u2062accountability.\u2063 \u201cA \u2062US Congressman is allowing a 3rd Party tech company to scan ALL \u200bof his electronic devices daily and then uploading reports to\u2062 his son about what he\u2019s watching or not watching\u2026.,\u201d\u200c Receipt Maven wrote. \u201cI mean, who\u2062 else is accessing that data?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, again, if you think it\u2019s\u2063 \u201ccreepy\u201d or \u201cBig \u200cBrother\u201d for a father to monitor his \u2062child\u2019s Internet usage, you are simply too\u200b stupid to be participating in this \u200ddiscussion,\u200c or any \u2062discussion. The best thing you can do is shut up, you stupid child, and let the adults have this conversation. I assume you\u2019re also \u200dthe kind of\u200c person who would say that telling a child to do\u200c chores is \u201cforced labor\u201d and sending him to his room \u2064is \u201cfalse imprisonment.\u201d \u200dI \u2062can only take \u2064solace in the fact that most of these people are \u200dchildless\u200d losers and will remain so for\u200c the rest of their miserable lives.<\/p>\n<p>As for the other concern, I think\u2063 we can use our brains and \u200dassume that Johnson does not\u200d have \u200cCovenant Eyes installed on his work devices. It\u2019s pretty clear that he\u2019s referring to\u2063 his personal devices and the ones in\u2062 his home.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, there are\u2064 two ways of interpreting this story.\u200c One interpretation is \u2064that Mike Johnson has installed surveillance software on all of his\u2062 phones and computers, including\u2063 his\u2064 work phone and the computer in his office \u200con Capitol Hill,\u200c where he then proceeds to download an \u2062unlimited supply\u2064 of pornography, \u200cwhich \u200che shares\u200b with his\u200b son. The other \u200cinterpretation is that Johnson has this accountability program on his family\u2019s personal devices, so that he can protect his kids from pornographic content while \u2063also modeling good \u2064behavior \u200cfor them. In other words, you can interpret this\u2062 like a deranged lunatic \u2062who can\u2019t comprehend the \u2063English language, or like\u200c a normal, sane person. They\u2019re such slaves \u2064to \u2062their impulses that they think anyone who exercises self-control is some\u200c kind of mutant. \u200cAnd \u200dthis\u200d isn\u2019t just \u2063about porn. Anyone who\u200c engages\u200b in \u200bhealthy practices in basically any aspect of life is a freak of nature\u2064 in their \u200ceyes.\u200c They \u200binstinctively\u2063 lash out\u2062 against the person, because the other option would be introspection. They would have to look at themselves and think, \u201cIf this person can make healthy choices\u200d and\u2064 live a good, moral life, then maybe it\u2019s not as impossible as I\u2019ve convinced myself.
