What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; \u200dwhether it&#8217;s in <strong>his<\/strong> best interest or the country&#8217;s?&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Another influential Democrat, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), admitted Sunday that he had \u200dbeen concerned before the polling. \u201cAnd I\u2019m concerned now,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-hampshire-republicans-target-democratic-rep-chris-pappas-with-new-congressional-map\/\" title=\"New Hampshire Republicans Target Democratic Rep Chris Pappas With New Congressional Map\">presidential races<\/a> over the last couple of\u200d terms have been very tight,\u201d he said. \u201cNo one is\u2064 going to have a runaway election here. It\u2019s going to take a lot of hard work, concentration, resources.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Also on Sunday, former acting\u2062 Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile \u200breiterated her \u200bsupport for the president, saying,\u200b \u201cDon\u2019t count \u200cout Joe Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite her projected confidence, Brazile warned the data should\u200c be &#8220;a wake-up call once again for Democrats&#8221;\u200b and urged the campaign to work on coalition-building in swing states. \u201cWithout \u200bthat coalition, it\u2019s\u2062 going to be a very, very difficult race,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Before the recent polling, concerns had been building among Democrats.\u200d Last month, former New York Gov.\u2063 Andrew Cuomo told Bill Maher, \u201cI think there should be a Democratic primary.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI think the \u200dDemocratic Party has \u200cto engage with real people and real voters on a\u200d different level,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They\u2019re too\u200d much: \u2018Trump is no good \u2062and \u2062Trump is\u200d a bum.\u2019 \u200bYou can\u2019t run on banking\u200c that the other guy is gonna\u200b lose.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Around the same time, \u200dveteran Democratic strategist James Carville foreshadowed the poor Biden numbers.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I\u2019m looking at polling data, and I\u2019m looking at all of it,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The president\u2019s \u200dnumbers are \u200djust not\u2062 good \u2014\u2062 and they\u2019re not getting any better.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I talk to a lot of people\u200b who do\u2063 a\u200c lot of congressional-level\u200c polling and state polling, and they\u2019re all saying the same thing. There\u2019s not an outlier; there\u2019s not another opinion. \u2026 \u2062The question is, has the country made up its mind?&#8221; he asked.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And it&#8217;s not only the elder statesmen in the Democratic Party who are starting to worry about Biden&#8217;s chances next year. Younger voters are worried Biden is too old to run\u200d again, and their generation of political commentators and analysts are saying the same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Jon\u2062 Favreau, Obama&#8217;s former speechwriter and podcast host, told the New York Times the president hasn&#8217;t lived up to the expectations younger\u200d voters had \u2063for him in 2020.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;And then I think specific to Joe\u2064 Biden, \u2064there are, of course, concerns\u2064 about\u2062 his age. I did a bunch of focus groups in 2022, \u200band it\u2019s not necessarily the criticism that you hear from Republicans, which is, like, he\u2019s\u200d completely senile, and someone else is running the government, and he\u2019s just a\u2063 puppet and all that\u2062 kind of stuff,&#8221; Favreau said. &#8220;It\u2019s\u2064 more they thought\u200b when they elected Joe Biden the first time that he was going to be a bridge \u2064to the next \u200bgeneration, that even though he didn\u2019t say it, that the implication was that he was going to serve one term.
