And while some will ignore the destructive behavior of the former president, I assure you we ignore it at our own peril.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>&#8216;Drop\u200d Out&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>While Mr. Hutchinson didn&#8217;t address the audience\u200b boos, he\u200d took \u200bto X to post the clip and captioned it with the remark:\u2064 &#8220;Proud \u2064of\u2062 Florida Republicans for \u200dlistening. The future of the GOP is at stake in 2024.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Besides sparking a negative audience reaction, Mr. Hutchinson&#8217;s \u2064remarks \u200balso drew a critical take from some lawmakers on Capitol \u2063Hill.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>&#8220;To hell with this \u200cguy! Drop out!! ANYONE running\u200d for President that thinks \u200bthey have a chance because they are banking on Pres Trump going to jail\u200b will NEVER have our support,&#8221; Rep.\u2062 Marjorie \u2063Taylor Greene \u200b(R-Ga.) said in a\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mtgreenee\/status\/1720817396171108808?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;The weaponized government and courts MUST be dismantled and fools who \u200drefuse to do it are part of it,&#8221; she added, hinting at \u200cher opposition to the\u200c view expressed by Mr. Hutchinson that a Trump guilty verdict represents the American \u2062justice system &#8220;at work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\" style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>  Rep. (Dave Sanders\/Photo via AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Weeks later, the judge was alerted to the \u2062fact that \u200balthough the post had been \u2062deleted almost immediately from social media, a copy of \u2062the post was left archived on one of President Trump&#8217;s \u2063campaign websites for 17 days after the order.<\/p>\n<p>So the judge fined President Trump $5,000 and warned of more severe penalties, including possible &#8220;imprisonment&#8221; if he continued to violate the order.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Alina Habba, the former president&#8217;s attorney, \u2064said jail\u200d time is \u201cnot even something we \u200cthink about\u201d as the trial against her client in New York headed into\u2063 its fifth \u2062week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen, \u2064he\u2019s protected\u2063 by \u2063Secret Service, No. 1. No. 2, he did nothing wrong,\u201d Ms. Habba told Newsmax. \u2062\u201cSo, when people go to jail it\u2019s because\u200d they\u2019ve done something wrong. Do we have crooked situations \u200bin and out of court? Absolutely. Could they try? Probably. \u2063But it won\u2019t work because there is still [a] trial process.
