To quote \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/person\/bill-ackman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Influence Watch<\/a>, \u201cSince 1998, with few exceptions to select Republicans, Ackman has mainly donated to Democratic election candidates. Ackman has donated more than $600,000 to\u200b Democratic\u2064 campaigns including those of Barack Obama, Al Gore, former\u2062 South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Rep. Beto O\u2019Rourke (D-TX), former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, Sen. \u2063Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and the Democratic Senatorial\u200c Campaign Committee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a\u200b veritable all-star team of media-hyped Democrat luminaries. So, when Ackman acknowledges that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/aoc-shills-tiktok-congress-considers-ban-now-follow-money-coincidence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok<\/a> should be banned because of alleged algorithm manipulation in the Israel\/Hamas conflict, maybe it\u2019s time to give The Donald a <em>little<\/em> credit for foresight.<\/p>\n<p>In \u2064a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media post<\/a> Monday, Ackman \u2014 CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management \u2014 said the Chinese-owned short-form video platform should \u201cprobably be banned\u201d for \u201cmassively manipulating public opinion\u201d in\u200b favor of the terrorist organization and \u201camplifying the hate\u201d against \u2064Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Ackman was responding to a widely disseminated video of a man \u2062in a mask going on\u2062 an anti-Semitic rant near the campus of Harvard University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Jews] should be all \u200cexterminated, every single one of them,\u201d the\u2062 man said in the video.\u200c \u201cAnd\u2062 their\u2064 kids, their mothers, their children, everybody \u2014 just like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/palestinian-flag-waving-man-arrested-alleged-hitler-threat-jewish-us-senator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hitler<\/a> did.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Man goes on antisemitic rant at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Harvard?\">@Harvard<\/a> University: \u201cI think they\u2019re [Israelis] all dirty, dirty animals\u2026They\u2062 should be all exterminated, every single one of them\u2014and their kids, their mothers, their children, everybody\u2014 just like Hitler did.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XFp7nAjYmi\">pic.twitter.com\/XFp7nAjYmi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Andy Ng\u00f4\u2062  (@MrAndyNgo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MrAndyNgo\/status\/1719169421686579529?\">October 30, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe world is quickly moving to a very dark \u2064place,\u201d Ackman said in \u2062a response. \u201cSocial media has been amplifying \u2063the hate for a \u200ddecade\u2063 as\u2062 algorithms wind us up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTikTok is massively manipulating\u200c public opinion. Compare the generational differences on support for Hamas. 51% of the\u200c TikTok generation \u2063say that Hamas\u2019 barbaric acts are justified,\u201d he continued. (According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/11\/01\/business\/bill-ackman-wants-tiktok-ban-for-manipulating-public-opinion-in-favor-of-hamas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>, Ackman was \u201capparently referring to a Harvard University poll of \u200bAmericans between the ages of 18 and 24\u200d who believed Hamas was justified in carrying out the attacks which left at least 1,400 Israeli civilians and soldiers dead.\u201d)<\/p>\n<p>Ackman went on to say that \u201cTikTok should probably be banned. A foreign government should not be in\u2062 control of the minds of our\u200d next generation of leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Thinking \u2063about it more, identifying this racist anonymous thug and giving the world an economic incentive to find him isn\u2019t the answer.<\/p>\n<p>We\u200b need to work toward\u200c a world without mindless hate. Namely, a president.<\/p>\n<p>In an August 2020 executive order issued by then-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-trial-devolves-total-chaos-right-eric-trump-takes-stand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President Trump<\/a>, the United States would prohibit \u201cany transaction by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United\u2062 States, with ByteDance Ltd.,\u201d according\u200d to <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2020\/08\/06\/politics\/trump-executive-order-tiktok\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>ByteDance is the Chinese-based owner of TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>For \u2064the most part, Trump\u2019s order justified \u2063the ban based\u2063 on the\u2064 fact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hedge-fund-billionaires-call-for-potential-tiktok-ban-over-alleged-pro-hamas-algorithm-echoes-trumps-early-fears\/\" title=\"Hedge-fund billionaire echoes Trump's concerns, calls for potential TikTok ban over alleged pro-Hamas algorithm.\">app \u2062\u201cautomatically captures vast swaths<\/a> of\u2062 information from its users\u201d\u2063 and \u201cthreatens to\u2063 allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans\u2019 personal and proprietary information \u2063\u2013\u200d potentially allowing China to track the locations of Federal employees\u2063 and contractors, build dossiers of personal information \u2062for blackmail, and conduct\u200d corporate espionage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, CNN also noted this: \u201cThe order \u2063also claims that \u2063the\u200c platform censors or disseminates content in keeping with the Chinese\u200d Communist Party\u2019s agenda, citing \u2018when TikTok videos spread debunked conspiracy theories \u2062about the origins of the\u2064 2019 \u200dNovel Coronavirus.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yes, the\u200d order \u201cclaims\u201d that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/vivek-ramaswamy-goes-full-beto-gets-roasted-tiktok-video-social-media-star-jake-paul\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok<\/a> controls the narrative. Huh. Fast forward three \u2064years and here\u2019s tech industry player \u2063Jeff Morris Jr. laying out exactly what\u2019s happening on the platform:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">As I\u2064 looked at the tactics and\u200d data, I saw that much of TikTok is being controlled by anti-Israel bot \u2064farms, \u200bpaid commenters\/likers\/sharers \u2014 much of\u200d which \u200dis paid for by Hamas supporting organizations. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NdcDvfiw4U\">pic.twitter.com\/NdcDvfiw4U<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jeff Morris Jr. (@jmj)\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jmj\/status\/1717404582660247713?\">October 26,\u2063 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Because the TikTok narrative is now so anti-Israel, the engagement flywheel\u2062 encourages creators to support \u2063that narrative\u200b because it\u2019s getting the most attention and creating anti-Israel content \u200bhelps them increase their following.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jeff Morris \u200cJr. (@jmj) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jmj\/status\/1717404590847479834?\">October 26, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Post noted \u2064that pro-Palestinian videos on TikTok outnumber pro-Israeli \u2064videos in a ratio of 15 to 1. And, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/11\/03\/technology\/israel-hamas-information-war.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> noted \u200din a Friday piece, China and two of its closest allies \u2014 Russia and Iran \u2014 have either \u2063implicitly or explicitly taken the side of Hamas in the war.<\/p>\n<p>How \u2019bout that.<\/p>\n<p>Now, \u200bof course, this all could have been avoided but for one man \u2014 Joseph Robinette Biden,\u200d who\u200b currently serves as\u2062 U.S. president.<\/p>\n<p>As the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/06\/09\/us\/politics\/biden-tiktok-ban-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Times<\/a> noted, \u200bhe\u2064 revoked the Trump-era \u2063executive order that sought to ban TikTok and another Chinese-controlled\u2062 social propaganda media service, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/china-reports-handful-covid-deaths-despite-funeral-homes-overflowing-body-bags\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WeChat<\/a>, in June 2021. Instead, Biden replaced it with an \u2063order the Times said \u201ccalls \u200bfor a broader\u200d review of a number of foreign-controlled applications that\u200b could pose a security risk to Americans and their data.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Trump order had not been carried out \u200c\u2018in the soundest fashion,\u2019 Biden administration officials said in a call with reporters, adding that the new directive would establish \u2018clear intelligible criteria\u2019 to evaluate national security risks\u200c posed by software \u2062applications connected to foreign governments, particularly China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Does this blatant propaganda, condoning of terrorism\u2064 and \u200bamplification of anti-Semitic rhetoric count as \u201cclear intelligible criteria\u201d to \u200dban \u200dTikTok yet,\u2062 Mr. President? Each government organization that has banned TikTok from devices \u200bhas cited security\u200c concerns. \u200cEach \u200dcountry&#8217;s primary concern is that the Chinese government could order ByteDance to \u200chand over\u200b the data it collects about its \u200dusers.\u200b Former President Donald Trump has been\u200d expressing concerns about TikTok for\u200b quite some time. Now, billionaire hedge-fund manager Bill Ackman is echoing those fears, calling for a potential ban of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/porsche-edits-jesus-statue-back-in-ad-after-being-removed\/\" title=\"Porsche restores Jesus statue in ad after removal.\">popular social\u2063 media platform<\/a>\u2064 over alleged algorithm manipulation in the Israel\/Hamas conflict. While \u200bAckman is typically associated with Democratic candidates, his stance on TikTok seems to align\u200c with Trump&#8217;s early warnings.<\/p>\n<p>In a social media post on \u2062Monday, Ackman, the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, stated that\u2064 TikTok should\u2064 &#8220;probably be banned&#8221; for its alleged manipulation of public opinion in \u200dfavor of \u200cHamas and its amplification of hate against Israel.
