Mr. Trump Jr. said\u2062 that he didn&#8217;t recall having conversations about any of the SFCs and didn&#8217;t work on\u2062 any of them, although \u2064he would have expected to be asked questions about properties that he worked on and their value. The numbers could \u2062have been updated based on his answers, although he wouldn&#8217;t know if they had, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Trump\u200d testified\u200c directly after his brother, similarly \u2063telling the state attorneys that he hadn&#8217;t \u200cworked on the SFCs himself as they asked \u200dabout the financial documents of various years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People ask me questions all the time,&#8221; he\u2062 said, noting that, as his brother did, his input could\u2063 have ultimately informed the numbers showing up on the \u200bSFCs. State attorneys asked whether he disregarded the appraiser&#8217;s input when he valued the property \u2062at $291 million in the SFC. \u200cThe \u200bdefense attorneys objected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u200c really hadn&#8217;t been involved in\u2063 the appraisal \u2062work,&#8221; Eric Trump said,\u200c noting that \u200dhe had participated in some of the \u200cphone calls that took place over \u200bthe half-year process but wasn&#8217;t the main person involved.<\/p>\n<p>State attorneys pressed him on his involvement with the appraisal of the Seven Springs private estate in Bedford, New York.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">&#8220;I&#8217;m an\u200c operator. I\u200c don&#8217;t \u200cfocus on appraisals,&#8221; \u2064Eric Trump said, noting that he couldn&#8217;t even remember some of the names in the 2014 emails \u200dthat he was being shown. &#8220;I&#8217;m on a thousand calls a day.&#8221;<\/div>\n<h2>Case<\/h2>\n<p>New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron\u2062 has \u200balready ruled that \u200cPresident Trump is liable for fraud in\u2064 a summary judgment on one of the attorney general&#8217;s seven claims, and \u2062the trial will deal with how much he owes \u200bin damages.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The attorney general&#8217;s office is seeking $250 million in damages and to \u2063bar the defendants from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-jr-and-eric-trump-testify-in-new-york-fraud-case\/\" title=\"Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump testify in NY fraud case.\">holding executive business \u200cpositions<\/a> in New \u200cYork State for \u200cfive years. The judge has already canceled business \u200ccertificates and ordered the Trump Organization to be dissolved, although that process has been \u200cpaused while President Trump appeals it.<\/p>\n<p>State\u200c attorneys have sought to \u2064establish that Trump \u2062Organization\u200b executives were solely\u200c responsible for the numbers appearing on the SFCs, and third-party\u2064 accountants testifying in the case have confirmed that they didn&#8217;t do independent \u200caudits or analyses in\u200c preparing the SFCs.<\/p>\n<p>Former Trump attorney and Trump Organization executive Michael \u200bCohen \u2064testified previously that President Trump would set his net value at an &#8220;arbitrarily&#8221; gotten number and \u200ctask Mr. Cohen and Trump Organization CFO Allen\u2064 Weisselberg\u200c with revising \u200cthe SFCs until they added up to \u200cthe total figures that \u2063President Trump had wanted.<\/p>\n<p>During Mr. Cohen&#8217;s testimony, he backtracked, claiming that he lied to a congressional committee when he \u200dmade the claim, \u2064and then reversing his \u200ctestimony to say that he\u200d hadn&#8217;t lied, because President Trump never used those words. He claimed that Mr. McConney\u2064 was \u2062sometimes also involved\u200c and that they would ask the Trump children about the \u2064properties that they were\u200b developing to add to their figures.<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorneys asked the judge to dismiss the case after Mr. Cohen reversed course in his testimony,\u200d admitting that President Trump never asked him to \u200d&#8221;inflate&#8221; numbers \u2062after making the claims more than once on the witness stand.
