Ken Buck Announces ⁤Decision Not to Seek Reelection in 2024

In⁢ a bold move, Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), a member of⁣ the conservative Freedom Caucus, revealed on MSNBC that he will not be running for reelection in 2024. Buck cited the House Republicans’ unwavering belief that the 2020 presidential election was stolen and their fixation ‌on the “Jan. 6 narrative” as the primary reasons behind his decision. He also ‌predicted that other Republican lawmakers will soon follow suit.

Joining Forces with House Appropriations Chairwoman Kay Granger

Buck expressed solidarity with House Appropriations Chairwoman⁣ Kay Granger (R-TX), who also announced her decision not to run in 2024. While Granger did not explicitly mention the 2020 election or Jan. 6 in her statement, Buck’s announcement strongly suggests that these issues played a role in her choice as well.

“I always have been disappointed with our inability in ‌Congress to deal with major issues,” Buck lamented. “I’m also disappointed that the ⁣Republican Party continues to rely on this lie that the 2020 election was stolen and rely on the Jan. 6 narrative and the⁤ political‍ prisoners from Jan.⁢ 6 and other things.”

Emphasizing the importance of ⁢truth, Buck added, “If we’re going ‍to solve difficult problems, we’ve got to deal with some ⁤very unpleasant truths or lies and make sure we project to the public what the truth is.”

A Departure from ⁢Caucus Loyalty

Despite ⁢being a member of the Freedom Caucus, Buck⁣ did ‌not support Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) bid for the⁢ speakership last month. Buck expressed concern over ⁣Jordan’s refusal to acknowledge Joe Biden’s victory in the election and‌ the events surrounding⁢ Jan. 6.

Furthermore, Buck highlighted the contrast between his own stance and that of‍ Speaker Mike Johnson, who challenged‌ the election results in the Supreme Court. While Buck ‍disagreed with Johnson’s‍ approach, he emphasized that the events of⁣ Jan.⁣ 6 were an entirely different matter.

Remaining Committed to the Republican Party

Although Buck is stepping away from Congress, he made it ⁣clear that he will ⁣continue to be an active member of the Republican Party. “I’m not going to be leaving my role in trying to talk truth to the public,” he affirmed.

Looking ahead ‌to the critical 2024 election, Buck refrained from ⁢endorsing any candidate but stressed the significance of the election at both the presidential and House levels. He believes ⁤that House members will‌ need to make ‌a decision on the direction⁤ they want ⁣to take with the values of the ⁢Republican Party.

‌What implications ⁢might the decision of⁤ Buck and ⁣Granger to not seek reelection in 2024 have on the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement as a whole

Ced her decision‍ not to run for reelection in 2024. The two lawmakers, both members of the conservative wing of the Republican Party, issued a joint statement emphasizing their commitment⁣ to conservative principles and their frustration with the direction of the party.

“Unfortunately, the Republican Party⁢ has⁣ been ⁤consumed by conspiracy theories and falsehoods about the 2020 election,” Buck stated. ‌”Instead of focusing on the‌ issues that matter to the American people, we have become fixated on a false⁢ narrative of election⁣ fraud and the events of January 6th. This is not the party we signed⁢ up for.”

Buck and Granger‍ highlighted their desire to work⁣ across party lines and <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/md-gov-hogan-urges-biden-lawmakers-to-work-together-on-covid-19-relief-legislation/" title="Md. As ⁤members of‍ the ⁢Freedom Caucus, a conservative group⁤ known ⁣for their ⁤uncompromising stances on issues such⁤ as immigration and ‌fiscal responsibility, their departure raises questions ‌about the ⁤future of the party.

Some observers see this as a sign‍ of a growing divide within the Republican Party, with the more <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/rep-ken-buck-wont-seek-reelection-citing-gop-narrative-on-jan-6/" title="Rep. The departure of Buck and Granger could signal a shift in the party’s priorities and strategy, as they were seen as influential voices within the Freedom Caucus.

Buck and Granger have not announced their future plans beyond their current terms in Congress, but both ⁣have expressed a desire to continue‍ advocating for conservative‌ principles outside‌ of elected office. “Our work is not done,” Buck declared. “We will‌ continue ⁤to fight for smaller government, lower ‌taxes, and individual liberty.”

The announcement by ⁢Rep. Kay Granger has sparked debate and ⁢speculation about the ‌future⁤ of the Republican Party.‍ Will other lawmakers follow their lead and step away from the party, or will their departure⁣ serve as‌ a wake-up call for Republicans to reassess ‌their priorities?

Only⁤ time will tell, but one thing is clear:‍ the decision by ‌Buck and ‍Granger to not seek reelection in 2024⁢ is‌ a significant development that will have far-reaching⁤ implications ‍for ⁤the future of the conservative movement and the Republican Party as a whole.

reelection in 2024,” said Rep.
