Marco Rubio (R-FL) criticized the Biden\u200d administration, accusing them of manipulating border\u2064 policy to create the \u200cillusion of compliance with the law. In an interview with Hannity,\u2063 Rubio \u200dexpressed his concerns \u200dabout \u2064the\u200b administration&#8217;s approach.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re playing a word game with us,\u201d Rubio\u2064 told Hannity. \u201cThe first \u2062thing they are saying is the \u2062law is \u200bbeing\u2062 complied with. \u200cWhat they\u2019re arguing is that we have asylum law. Someone crosses, \u200bthey claim asylum, the\u2063 law says\u200d we\u2064 have to\u200b let \u200dthem in and stay\u200d until they get a court hearing that\u2062 many don\u2019t show up for. So, they\u2019re\u2063 arguing they are following the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rubio emphasized that migrants interpret the law differently, seeing it as an opportunity to enter the U.S. easily. He explained, &#8220;All\u200c we have\u2062 to do \u2063is get in the\u200d U.S., say the magic words, we\u2019re going \u2062to be released, and\u200c we\u2019re going to be sent to any city that we\u200b want to, and they\u2019re going to pay for it. And\u200b that\u2019s what\u2019s\u200d driving this incentive for\u2064 people\u200b to come, and everyone in the world knows it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to the Democrats&#8217; argument that the legal immigration system is broken, Rubio pointed out that it is actually more\u200b cost-effective for taxpayers. He highlighted the disparity between legal and illegal immigration, stating,\u200b &#8220;It is faster and easier to come illegally than \u2062it is to come legally.\u2064 Imagine if you are out there waiting ten years. You applied\u200d for\u2064 a visa, and\u200c you\u2019re \u200dwaiting, but somebody you know came here illegally and is now maybe on \u200bthe verge \u2064of getting residency because they have some political\u200b backing\u2062 to\u200b grant them a\u2063 path \u2063to citizenship.
