Winning a CIF championship hadn&#8217;t\u2062 happened since 1946, so those conversations were unheard of.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This season, the CIF has placed \u2064the Breakers in Division 7, opening up the possibility of a championship rematch with \u2063Chino.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\">\n<figure style=\"width:371px\" class=\"alignleft\"><figcaption>Laguna Beach junior quarterback Jackson Kollock. (Courtesy of Jake Hiemstra)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re giving it our all,&#8221; declared \u200djunior quarterback Jackson Kollock, who has already amassed impressive stats with 2,954 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. &#8220;Our \u200cgoal\u2064 is to win the \u2062state championship \u200bthis year, \u2064and we&#8217;re determined to make it happen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Expectations have shifted dramatically at Laguna Beach in recent seasons, thanks in large part to senior tight end and\u200c linebacker Ryner \u2064Swanson.\u2064 Swanson&#8217;s commitment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-fighting-for-college-football-became-the-biggest-battle-of-my-career\/\" title=\"The College Football Fight: My Career's Ultimate Battle\">play college football<\/a> at Brigham Young University\u2063 has inspired his teammates to consider staying at Laguna Beach for their own opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He has completely transformed our program,&#8221; \u2062praised Coach Shanahan. &#8220;When other players see him\u2062 receive a\u200d D-1 offer, they realize they don&#8217;t have to leave Laguna \u2062Beach\u2064 to play at the next level. It&#8217;s a game-changer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Swanson even delayed his commitment to Brigham Young to help his\u2063 teammate Kollock. When a University of Washington coach came to \u200cscout Swanson, he noticed Kollock&#8217;s talent as well.\u200c As a result, Kollock\u2062 recently \u2063committed to \u2064play for the \u2064Huskies.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s no better teammate than Ryner,&#8221; Kollock expressed. &#8220;I love these guys. \u200cWe&#8217;re\u200b like a family, always supporting \u200beach other. I couldn&#8217;t ask for a better group of teammates.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With Swanson and Kollock moving on, more \u2063opportunities are expected to arise for other Breakers players. Senior running back Nick Rogers shared his perspective after a \u200bstandout\u200c performance against Westminster, where \u2064he rushed for 176 yards, caught four passes \u200bfor 78 yards, and scored four touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our small team and small town force us to be united,&#8221; Rogers \u200dexplained. &#8220;We&#8217;re close-knit, \u200bnot just on the field but in everything we do.\u2062 That&#8217;s where it all starts, and\u2062 that&#8217;s why we \u200dwork so well \u2062together. Our continuous \u2064dedication and repetition have allowed us to be consistently strong. Our kids\u200b have big goals, and they&#8217;ve been working tirelessly to\u200d achieve them.
