She continued by\u2062 pointing out that the \u200csummary document seems to have\u200d methodically buried the\u200b essential role of the Church. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhere\u2064 is the uniqueness of Christianity? That singular message of the Good News that\u200b transformed the world 2,000 \u2062years ago?\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She asked. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThere \u2062is much talk of adapting \u200dthe message, finding\u200b more inclusive language, and making\u2063 it \u2064understandable (or palatable) for the people of \u200ctoday, but over \u200bthe centuries illiterate \u2064people were able to understand what God wants \u200cfrom\u2064 us, the message was \u200cbrought to the farthest reaches of\u200b the planet\u200c without a\u200d worldwide web and was so convincingly understood that\u2062 people were ready \u2062and willing to die for it. \u200dThe church \u2063used beauty, it used hope, it used \u200ba guiding light in darkness \u200cin its art and architecture to match its message. What makes Catholic Christianity \u200dspecial today?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When asked\u2063 by The Daily Wire if\u200c she, as\u2062 a \u2062historian, recognized historical similarities to those controversies leading up\u200c to this\u2064 Synod, Lev\u200b replied, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn so far as the\u2063 history \u2064of the Church, there was \u200da lot of controversy in how to address\u200b the contemporary problems in the age of Luther \u200d\u2013 should priests \u200dmarry? Should the\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/as-catholic-general-assembly-of-bishops-adjourns-questions-over-female-priests-and-marriage-remain\/\" title=\"Catholic Bishops' Assembly Ends, Questions on Female Priests and Marriage Persist\">church relax marriage doctrine<\/a>? etc. \u2014 so yes we \u2063have seen this before.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lev concluded, \u201cThe waters \u2064have been\u200d choppy before for\u2064 the barque of Peter, but it always seems to \u2062right\u200d itself. As Cardinal Ercole Consalvi allegedly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bromptonoratory.co.uk\/provost-blog\/2019\/8\/26\/september-2019-letter-from-the-provost\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">noted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  \u200d(responding \u2063to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Napoleon<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  Bonaparte\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">threat that \u2063he had<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  the power to destroy \u200dthe Catholic Church), \u200dthe Catholic clergy have\u200c been trying to destroy \u200bthe church\u200b from within for 1,800 years but have\u2064 never been able to succeed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What challenges and decisions\u2062 does the Catholic Church face when \u2062it comes to balancing adaptation and preserving its core beliefs and teachings<\/h2>\n<p><span>  E \u200dworld?\u201d Lev questioned.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She further criticized the emphasis on adaptability and\u200b change, stating, \u200d\u201cAdapting \u2063the message\u200b\u2064 seems to\u2062 be \u2063the\u200d catchphrase, but the message is the \u200danchor in \u200ca \u2064storm, not just something to be dressed up and changed with each new \u2063\u200bgeneration.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lev believes that the\u200d focus on \u2063adaptation overlooks the\u200d transformative power\u200d of Christianity throughout history. \u201cChristianity has stood up to\u2064 medieval\u200b inquisitions and ideological revolutions. If the Church were to adapt\u200c according \u2062to popular opinion, it\u200c would \u200dno longer be \u200brecognizable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As discussions continue, \u200dthe Catholic Church faces a delicate balance between adaptation \u200band preserving its core beliefs and teachings.
