Kennedy \u200dJr. appears calculated to undermine the Trump cause.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt legitimately always felt like it was a Democrat\u2064 plant to hurt \u200bthe Trump thing,\u201d Trump\u2062 Jr. said. \u201cHe \u200cwouldn\u2019t be there if\u200d the Democrats \u2064didn\u2019t want him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the surface, conventional wisdom suggests that a \u200bKennedy campaigning for president\u2064 should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-poll-shows-trump-strong-lead-rfk-jr-cornel-west-added-mix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hurt<\/a> the incumbent Democrat.<\/p>\n<p>Anecdotally, however, Kennedy has had an\u2063 unmistakable appeal\u200c to some anti-establishment voters, \u2064including Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, in an August interview with \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/something-bads-coming-tucker-carlson-warns-america-brink-collapse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tucker Carlson<\/a> on X, Kennedy asserted what many \u200bAmericans who distrust \u200bthe deep state already suspected: that the CIA had \u200ca hand in the 1963 assassination of \u2064his uncle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-releases-explosive-interview-rfk-jr-touching-ukraine-jfk-assassination-lied\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John F. Kennedy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Then, when Carlson asked \u2062about reported U.S. bio-labs in \u200bUkraine, Kennedy gave \u200da very matter-of-fact answer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2063 have bio-labs in Ukraine because we\u2019re developing bio-weapons,\u201d RFK \u2064Jr. said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Ep. 16 RFK\u2062 Jr. explains Ukraine, bio-labs, and who killed his uncle <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RMr5VZVqSM\">pic.twitter.com\/RMr5VZVqSM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tucker Carlson \u200c(@TuckerCarlson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TuckerCarlson\/status\/1691228480556429312?\">August 14, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The longtime\u200c Democrat also has a lengthy \u200dhistory of vaccine skepticism. In fact, Trump\u2063 Jr. cited this history as a major source of Kennedy\u2019s appeal \u2063among anti-establishment voters. But Trump Jr. also cautioned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-tells-biden-careful-wishes-can-happen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> supporters to look beyond \u2064this single issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce you actually\u2062 look at his voting record, you\u2019re like, no, he\u2019s just\u200c a liberal \u2062that\u2064 is anti-vax,\u201d Trump Jr. said. \u201cBeing anti-vax, I don\u2019t think that\u2019s enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, according \u2062to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4278538-trump-jr-calls-rjk-jr-a-democrat-plant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>,\u2063 another Republican challenger has depicted Kennedy \u200bas a \u2062legitimate threat to Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRFK Jr. will be \u2062a vessel for anti-lockdown and \u2064anti-Fauci voters if \u2063Trump is the nominee,\u201d Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ron-desantis-bans-student-organization-florida-campuses-support-terrorist-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ron DeSantis<\/a> of Florida said in New Hampshire earlier \u200cthis month.<\/p>\n<p>At this point\u2064 in the campaign, Kennedy\u2019s candidacy \u2064looks to be a genuine wild card.<\/p>\n<p>On one hand, \u200cTrump Jr. had\u2062 it right. The independent \u200ccandidate has indeed taken liberal positions on issues such as abortion, climate policy and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rfk-jr-gets-shredded-hannity-obama-support-calling-nra-terror-organization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Second Amendment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/10\/18\/rfk-jr-comes-out-for-reparations-forging-lane-to-bidens-left\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>, Kennedy\u200c has also expressed support \u2062for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-nominee-praised-movement-to-defund-police-in-interview-with-chinese-state-tv\/\" title=\"Biden Nominee Praised Movement to Defund Police in Interview With Chinese State TV\">race-based reparations<\/a>, though he later <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/10\/26\/news\/rfk-jr-quietly-changes-stance-on-reparations-after-blowback\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">modified<\/a> that stance.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, \u200dwith the exception of a benign-sounding reference to environmental \u2062clean-up, Kennedy\u2063 has not identified any\u200c of those\u200b insidious\u200b liberal\u200c initiatives\u200c among his campaign\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kennedy24.com\/priorities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">priorities<\/a>. Instead, \u200dhe has focused on \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-jr-this-2024-presidential-candidate-is-a-democrat-plant\/\" title=\"Trump Jr. claims 2024 candidate is a 'Democrat plant'.\">traditional working-class concerns<\/a> such as housing, civil liberties and ending foreign wars.<\/p>\n<p>Thus,\u2063 in\u200b his public statements, \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rfk-jr-implores-biden-secret-service-protection-intruder-arrested-home-twice-one-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kennedy<\/a> has more or\u200c less downplayed his liberal\u200c ideas and amplified his populist views.<\/p>\n<p>From Trump Jr.\u2019s perspective, therefore, that certainly \u2064would sound like a \u201cDemocrat plant\u201d calculated to undermine the 45th president.<\/p>\n<p>Events, of\u2062 course, have a way of \u2062complicating an already confusing\u200b situation.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, in recent weeks President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-approval-rating-democrats-takes-double-digit-hit-israel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe \u200dBiden<\/a> \u200dhas lost substantial support\u2064 among pro-Palestinian Democrats over the Israel-Hamas war. Likewise, Kennedy has backed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/anti-israel-mob-storms-airport-searches-jews-flight-tel-aviv-lands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Israel<\/a> and, for that reason,\u200b has lost support \u200damong antiwar libertarians, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/rfk-jr-dumps-democrats-libertarian-212527801.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yahoo<\/a>. Only time will\u200b tell how the\u2064 Middle East\u200d might reshape electoral politics.<\/p>\n<p>In short, before Hamas\u2019 Gestapo-like rampage through\u200c southern\u2063 Israel on Oct. 7, U.S.\u200b domestic \u200dpolitical alignments had developed some clarity.<\/p>\n<p>Now, however, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-sends-war-powers-notification-congress-headed-something-big\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden<\/a> having blundered his way to the brink of World\u2062 War III, nothing appears certain.
