She did not test positive for\u2063 COVID&#8221;\u2014that&#8217;s \u200dwhat the emergency room staff\u2062 told him\u200d when they\u2064 admitted her on Jan. 5, 2022, Mr. Bay told\u2062 The \u200cEpoch Times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They told him instead that she had pneumonia\u2062 but \u2064&#8221;isolated her&#8221; in the COVID unit anyway. (Courtesy of Kurtis Bay)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mr. Bay said he realized there were many others\u2064 just like \u2062him\u2014more than 30,000\u2064 in the group\u2014who were just as &#8220;confused or had no \u2063idea this was occurring&#8221; throughout the\u200b hospital system.<\/p>\n<p>On its website, the group \u200bsaid its primary mission \u200cis to \u2062raise awareness of the &#8220;destruction of countless lives during the pandemic&#8221; with a focus\u2062 on civic action and\u200b community support.<\/p>\n<p>Members can also access financial and \u200dmental health resources and information through faith-based \u2063initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>As important, Mr. Bay\u200b said, are 1,000 Widows&#8217; legislative efforts to strengthen medical freedom and accountability with a revised Arizona \u200bpatient bill\u2064 of rights.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200cgroup helped overturn Arizona SB1377, pandemic legislation that \u200cdeclared a medical health provider \u200cimmune to\u200d liability\u2063 for negative \u2062outcomes if it acted in &#8220;good faith&#8221; \u2063during a public health emergency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;COVID-19 patients in\u2064 Arizona who feel \u2063they were harmed\u2062 by \u2064healthcare providers during the pandemic are now able to pursue \u2062legal claims and seek damages,&#8221; said 1000 Widows\u2064 member Sara \u200cBehmer-Pinheiro in a\u200b letter to The Epoch \u200bTimes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our vision is to create a world where families \u200dimpacted\u200d by tragedies, like the COVID-19 pandemic, can access real-time support \u200cand resources tailored to their \u200dunique\u2064 needs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We aim to bring together individuals, organizations, and partners from\u2064 all walks of life, fostering a community that stands together \u200din times of crisis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One Arizona \u200blawmaker who supports the group is Sen. Janae \u2062Shamp, a Republican member\u2062 of\u200c the state legislature&#8217;s \u2062Coronavirus Southwestern Intergovernmental Committee.<\/p>\n<p>On\u2063 Oct. 20, the body met in Phoenix to hear presentations on COVID-19 protocols, autopsy findings, and ways to protect \u200bmedical \u200cand religious vaccine exemptions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While I believe that\u2064 there is a \u200dneed to review and enhance the \u200bpatient&#8217;s bill of rights, we will not be discussing a formal proposal at this hearing,&#8221; Ms. Shamp, vice-chairwoman \u200dof Arizona&#8217;s Health and Human Services, told The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;However, \u200cthe general concept\u200b of the \u200dpatient&#8217;s bill of rights is an important and unavoidable component of the discussion \u200bwe\u2063 will be having regarding proper informed consent, adverse\u2063 events, and other implications\u2064 of the widespread deployment of COVID-19 vaccines \u200dand other \u2063related countermeasures.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\">\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>  Tammy Bay standing in front of a colorful mural.\u2063 (Photo \u2063courtesy\u2062 of Kurtis Bay)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>On May 11, \u2064the Biden administration ended the COVID-19 \u200dpandemic \u200dhealth emergency declaration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arizona-nonprofit-helping-those-who-feel-they-were-harmed-by-covid-19-medical-protocols\/\" title=\"Arizona nonprofit aiding COVID-19 protocol victims.\">allowing\u200c government\u2062 health agency \u200cauthorizations<\/a> \u2062for collecting medical\u2063 health data to \u2063expire.<\/p>\n<p>In late 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a conditional recommendation against the use of the antiviral drug \u200dRemdesivir \u200cin hospitalized\u2064 COVID-19 \u200dpatients, &#8220;regardless of disease severity, as there\u200d is currently \u2064no evidence that Remdesivir improves \u2062survival \u200dand other\u200c outcomes in these patients.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Remdesvir is one of two National \u2062Institutes \u200dof \u2062Health \u2062(NIH) preferred therapies \u200dafter \u2063the antiviral Paxlovid used to prevent hospitalization \u200dfor COVID-19,\u200c according to Yale\u200c Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>However, at\u200b least\u2062 two studies\u2064 linked\u200d the drug&#8217;s use to acute kidney injury in\u200b COVID patients.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Once you arrive, they put you into a particular\u2063 process,&#8221; Mr. Bay said, noting that some hospitals still use peak COVID-19 protocols to \u200btreat\u2064 patients.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It doesn&#8217;t matter \u2063what\u200d your loved \u2063one came in with. They don&#8217;t have \u200cto be COVID-positive. They \u2064can still treat them \u200cfor COVID whether \u2064they \u200dare COVID-positive or not. They\u200b can move\u2062 them\u2063 in \u2063this system and check\u2062 the box for the\u2064 [government financial] \u2062incentive plan,&#8221; he \u200dsaid.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>The incentive plan\u200c Mr.\u2064 Bay referred to provides hospitals with enhanced payments for\u200c COVID-19 diagnoses under \u200bthe Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;Had\u200b A Feeling&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Although Kurtis and Tammy Bay were unvaccinated for COVID-19, they were not anti-vaccine. They were, however, skeptical about putting an \u200bexperimental \u200dchemical\u2064 into their bodies, despite \u200dboth \u2063contracting\u200b the virus during\u200b the pandemic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;We called \u2063it the\u2064 sleeping \u2062disease because\u200d we were tired for 10 or 12 days [but] \u200c we were \u200dfine,&#8221;\u2064 Mr. Bay \u2064said.<\/p>\n<p>The night Tammy experienced chest discomfort on Jan. 5, 2022, the couple were on\u200c their way to\u2063 an urgent care\u200b facility\u200c after hours.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Are you taking me to the emergency room?&#8221; Tammy asked her husband, who said, &#8220;No.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, I think that&#8217;s where I&#8217;m going to end up,&#8221; Tammy\u2063 said.\u2064 &#8220;I just have a feeling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Bay said\u2063 his wife&#8217;s apprehensions were correct. And when \u200cthe hospital admitted her hours later, he wrote on a medical whiteboard:\u2062 &#8220;No sedation.\u200c No high-flow oxygen. No Remdesivir.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Within 24 \u2064hours of her admittance, &#8220;they were already sedating her,&#8221; \u2064he said. &#8220;I\u200b was labeled combative\u2062 on\u2064 the \u200dfirst day. They called security to try to remove me. The \u2063cops\u200c came, \u2064and I was trespassed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On day three, Mr.\u2064 Bay requested a transfer for Tammy\u2014and\u2063 on that\u200c day, they\u2064 intubated \u2063her. A panic\u2064 attack\u2063 landed her in the intensive care unit, simply because \u200cof the\u200b hospital&#8217;s COVID-19 protocol for elevated breathing and heart rate.<\/p>\n<p>One night, Tammy called her husband, pleading to come and take her home\u2014&#8221;and I couldn&#8217;t\u2014I couldn&#8217;t come and\u2062 get\u2063 her,&#8221; \u2064Mr. Bay said, breaking\u2063 into tears. &#8220;They wouldn&#8217;t let me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They were following a regimen. Nobody\u200d asked how Tammy was \u2064feeling. They didn&#8217;t\u2063 even\u200c know her [expletive] name.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tammy eventually developed \u200ca \u2064leaking perforation in \u200bher bowel that\u200b required emergency surgery.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All of this happened because she was in the hospital,&#8221; \u200bsaid Mr. Bay, who \u2064received \u200dthe devastating\u2063 news that Tammy couldn&#8217;t have the life-saving operation.<\/p>\n<p>The surgeons said that to do the procedure, Tammy would have to \u200clie on her stomach. It doesn&#8217;t matter whether you give consent or not,&#8221; he \u2062said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Bay said a &#8220;driving message&#8221; from\u200c 1,000 Widows \u200cmembers \u2062is their shared \u200ddesire for justice and\u200c medical accountability denied by the legal establishment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was\u200c clear we \u2062needed to establish more local and civic responsibility in the form of legislation,&#8221; Mr. Bay said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This isn&#8217;t about me. \u2064It isn&#8217;t about my wife. It&#8217;s\u2063 about us\u2014the victims. None of us wants to be here.
