While the answer\u200b remains unclear, one \u200dthing is certain\u2062 &#8211; these\u2064 games have had an impact\u2064 on society, just not in \u2062the way that\u2064 fear-mongers would\u2064 have you believe.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s take\u2063 a look at &#8220;The View&#8221; co-host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joy-behar-admits-gop-presidential-candidate-lives-head-thinks-lying-bed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joy\u200b Behar<\/a> as an example.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not\u2063 clear where Behar stands on the debate \u2064of\u2062 violent media versus violent behavior, but what is clear is \u200bthat her perception of real life has been greatly influenced by violent media.<\/p>\n<p>This lack of understanding was on full display during a recent\u2063 episode of &#8220;The View&#8221; when the panel discussed\u200b the tragic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/manhunt-ends-maine-massacre-suspect-found-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maine mass shooter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Watch the segment below and\u2063 see if you can spot the moment where Behar \u200dgoes off the deep end:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As expected from\u200b a far-left program \u200blike &#8220;The View,&#8221; the conversation quickly turned into the usual bashing\u200d of the Second Amendment that we&#8217;ve come to expect from leftists after any senseless shooting.<\/p>\n<p>But Behar took it a step further by attempting to illustrate the dangers\u200b of the \u2062AR-15 with \u2063a completely nonsensical explanation that \u2064you have to\u2063 hear \u2064to believe.<\/p>\n<p>When co-host Sara Haines mentioned the\u2064 use of guns \u200cfor hunting, Behar ignorantly interjected, \u2062&#8221;But also if you shoot with an AR-15, let&#8217;s say you shoot a deer, you can&#8217;t eat it. \u2064Because you basically demolished the \u200danimal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now, if we\u2062 were in a fictional world like the movies &#8220;Die Hard&#8221; or \u2063&#8221;John \u200dWick,&#8221; or even in a video game like &#8220;Grand Theft Auto 5,&#8221; sure, maybe the deer would \u2063explode\u200b in \u200da dramatic fashion. But in reality, an AR-15 might leave an exit \u200cwound on\u200d a \u200cdeer, given \u200bthe ammunition it uses. It&#8217;s far\u2062 from \u2064the \u2064grenade launcher that Behar is \u2062making it out to be.<\/p>\n<p>Now,\u200c you might think \u200bthis is a minor \u200ddetail not worth arguing \u200dover, but it&#8217;s important\u2062 to call out the dishonesty of those who seek to\u200d infringe \u200don\u200b our\u2062 Second Amendment rights.<\/p>\n<p>These individuals are\u200c using false and intentionally \u200bscary rhetoric to manipulate public \u200copinion on the Second Amendment, and that \u2062should not\u200c be tolerated.<\/p>\n<p>We should be open to having an honest and\u2064 uncomfortable discussion about the Second Amendment, even if we ultimately disagree. Cawthorn criticizes Dems push for gun control\">stricter gun control laws<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not\u2063 just \u2063Behar who is guilty of this, though. \u2063The media as a whole has\u2063 been complicit in \u200cperpetuating this narrative. Headlines screaming \u200dabout &#8220;assault weapons&#8221; and &#8220;epidemics of gun violence&#8221; \u200bonly serve to incite panic and further the agenda of those who wish to restrict \u2064our constitutional rights.<\/p>\n<p>But what\u2064 these fear-mongers fail to acknowledge is the \u200dfact that video games, including violent shooter games, have not been proven to directly cause real-world violence. Numerous studies have been conducted over the years, and the results have been inconclusive at best. While some studies have shown\u200c a correlation between violent\u200d video games and aggressive behavior, it&#8217;s important to note that correlation does not equal causation.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, many experts \u200bargue that video games can have positive effects on individuals, such as improving cognitive skills, problem-solving abilities, and hand-eye coordination. Furthermore, the vast majority \u200dof video game enthusiasts do not exhibit violent tendencies in their\u2063 everyday lives. They are able\u2062 to \u2062distinguish \u200dbetween fantasy and reality, recognizing that what\u200d happens on the screen stays on the screen.<\/p>\n<p>So why is there still\u200d a debate surrounding the impact of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/allen-west-americas-unique-freedom\/\" title=\"Allen West: America\u2019s Unique Freedom\">violent video games<\/a> on real-world violence? The answer lies in politics and personal beliefs. It&#8217;s easier for politicians to scapegoat video games than \u2063to address the root\u2062 causes of violence, such as mental health, poverty,\u200d and societal issues. Similarly, individuals\u200c who are opposed to gun ownership may use video games \u200das a\u200d convenient target, deflecting attention away from the real issues at hand.<\/p>\n<p>If we truly want to address\u2062 the issue of violence in \u200csociety,\u2062 we need to have a meaningful \u200cand honest conversation.\u200b We need to look beyond the scapegoats and focus on evidence-based\u2062 solutions.\u200b This means investing\u2064 in mental health services,\u2064 addressing socioeconomic disparities, and promoting responsible\u200c gun ownership.<\/p>\n<p>To continue blaming video games for societal ills is not only misguided, but it \u2062also \u200ddetracts from the real work that needs to be done. We must resist \u2063the fear-mongering tactics of \u200bthose who seek to \u2063vilify an entire medium\u2064 based on limited evidence and \u200cpersonal \u2064bias.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, if you\u2063 were\u2063 a video game aficionado \u200cin the early 2000s, you know the controversy\u2064 surrounding violent shooter games and their alleged link to\u2062 real-world violence. However, it&#8217;s essential to separate fact from fiction\u2063 and recognize\u2064 that\u2064 video games have had an impact on society, just not in the way that fear-mongers would have\u200d you believe.
