His leadership has been instrumental in advancing\u2063 conservative, America-first\u2062 principles and policies that \u2064have benefited\u200d our great nation,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must unite behind \u200dDonald Trump to beat Joe \u200bBiden and fight back against Biden\u2019s unprecedented election\u2063 interference and the left\u2019s destruction of America,\u201d Elder added.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">It\u2019s time \u2063to unite behind <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump?\">@realDonaldTrump<\/a> to beat Joe Biden! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VXw6pyem2d\">pic.twitter.com\/VXw6pyem2d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Larry Elder (@larryelder) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/larryelder\/status\/1717673313651364320?\">October 26, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Friday, \u200dTrump accepted the endorsement, thanking Elder \u200din a post on Truth Social in which he wrote, \u2063\u201cSo great to have the Endorsement of wonderful Larry Elder. Respected by all, he has so much of importance to say, especially when it comes to fathers and families. Thank you Larry!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Elder, 71, is\u200d a longtime commentator\u2064 and author who first ran as a political candidate in 2021. He was the leading contender to\u2063 replace California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who was fighting\u200b off a\u2064 recall campaign. Newsom managed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-gops-elder-concedes-california-recall-hints-stay-tuned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hold onto the \u2062office<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Elder\u2019s decision represents another\u200d winnowing of the GOP field.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b best-known Republican to drop out \u2064is former Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-former-vice-president-mike-pence-ends-campaign-white-house-struggling-gain-traction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mike Pence<\/a>, who announced on Saturday that he was suspending his \u200dcampaign. He \u200ddid not endorse any other contender.<\/p>\n<p>On\u200b Monday \u2064businessman and\u200c GOP candidate \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/2024-presidential-candidate-suspends-campaign-endorses-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Perry\u200c Johnson<\/a> made the same decision as\u2063 Elder, declaring in a news release \u2063posted \u2064on \u2063X that Trump is the only one who can win the Republican nomination and the general\u2064 election.<\/p>\n<p>Perry wrote, \u2062\u201cAfter \u200dsuspending my campaign for President on Friday, \u200cthere is now only one in the race who can \u2064provide a \u2062solution \u2063to our \u200bnation\u2019s economic, foreign policy\u200b and social crises, and \u2062most importantly\u2062 beat \u2064Joe\u200c Biden at \u200bthe ballot box.
