underneath a 405 Freeway overpass, one\u200b of Los Angeles\u2019s\u200d most dangerous homeless encampments\u2014located near Venice Boulevard and\u2064 Globe Avenue and straddling Culver City and the City of Los Angeles\u2014was cleared \u200dOct. 24 by officials\u200b from both cities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Venice and Globe site is a unique challenge because one side of the \u2064street is in Culver City and the other side is in the City\u2064 of Los \u2064Angeles,\u201d Culver \u2062City Spokesman Dustin Klemann told\u200b The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>Now that the encampment is gone, according to Mr. Klemann, Culver City \u2062officials\u200c are now removing graffiti, creating \u2063more lighting, and making other\u2062 repairs in\u2064 the area.<\/p>\n<div witnessed drug distribution, fights, arson, and large piles of trash at the site.<\/p>\n<p>On some occasions, pedestrians were prevented from using the sidewalk \u2064due to\u200d the number of provided with housing and services, \u200daccording to Culver City officials.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The city, \u2062officials say, has invested \u201cheavily\u201d\u200c to create housing for \u200dthe homeless including \u200d157 new units of temporary and\u200d permanent supportive housing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCulver \u200cCity\u2019s policy is to lead with care, offering shelter, housing, and services,\u201d Mr. Klemann \u2064said.<\/p>\n<p>The clean-up was part of \u2062Los \u2064Angeles Mayor Karen Bass\u2019s so-called Inside Safe \u200dprogram, which she launched along with \u2062an emergency order to accelerate and lower costs\u2062 of\u2064 temporary homeless housing, shortly\u200d after she took office in 2022, \u2063to get \u200bmore homeless in from the streets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are\u2064 shifting the way the \u2064city approaches homelessness, and the Inside Safe initiative represents a change in how we help and house people living in tents and encampments,\u201d Ms.\u200c Bass said in\u200d a <a solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But since the clearing of encampment, some nearby residents have questioned how long it will take before another homeless encampment replaces it.<\/p>\n<p>According to Venice Neighborhood Council member Soledad Ursua,\u200b this is the second\u200d time she has noticed a \u2064clean-up operation under the busy overpass in\u200b recent years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey cleared \u2062that 405 area not too \u2062long ago &#8230; it all came \u200dback,\u201d she told The Epoch\u2063 Times.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\">\n<figure style=\"width:600px\"
