George Santos of New York has introduced a resolution to expel him from the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution \u200cmust \u2063be considered within two legislative days\u200d and requires a two-thirds majority for approval, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/george-santos-expulsion-house-resolution-anthony-desposito\/#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS \u200dNews<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after being elected by Long Island \u200bvoters last November, Santos \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/representative-elect-comes-clean-big-lies-win-still-plans-serve-entire-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admitted<\/a> to lying about his\u2063 business record and education. He was sworn in in January amid a flurry\u2064 of negative headlines.<\/p>\n<p>Santos was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/santos-breaks-silence-criminal-charges-vows-chair-committee-couple-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criminally charged<\/a> earlier this\u2064 year by the Justice Department with wire fraud, falsifying records and other crimes. He has pleaded not guilty to\u200d the charges.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution to remove Santos from\u200b office was brought by fellow GOP \u2062Rep. Anthony D\u2019Esposito of New York.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Esposito spoke on the House floor \u200con Thursday and laid out the accusations\u200b and charges against his colleague.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese charges indicate\u2063 that George \u200bSantos engaged in a serious financial fraud \u2063throughout his 2022 campaign for the House of Representatives,\u201d D\u2019Esposito said while accusing Santos of stealing tens of\u2063 thousands of dollars from \u2063campaign donors.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Esposito also\u200c accused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/george-santos-goes-absolutely-berserk-confrontation-anti-israel-protester\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Santos<\/a> of engaging in election fraud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeorge\u200c Santos is not fit to serve his constituents as a United\u2062 States representative,\u201d D\u2019Esposito argued.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepDesposito?\">@RepDesposito<\/a> (R-NY) introduces a resolution to expel <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepSantosNY03?\">@RepSantosNY03<\/a> (R-NY) from the House. Santos admitted to lying about his business record \u200dand education. The DOJ stated that\u2063 he repeatedly charged contributors&#8217; credit cards without their authorization.
