Good Luck \u200dExplaining \u2062This, Jamaal<\/h2>\n<p>When Democratic Rep.\u2064 Jamaal Bowman \u2014 a member \u200cof the \u201csquad\u201d \u2062of far-left representatives \u2014 got caught \u200cpulling the fire alarm in\u2064 the Cannon House Office Building of the \u200bCapitol complex before the\u200c vote\u200b on the continuing resolution that kept the \u2062government open, he swore it was \u2064a mistake.<\/p>\n<p>The reason he did it,\u200d Bowman said,\u2062 was that he was rushing for a vote and thought the fire alarm was, instead, the security mechanism\u2062 to open the \u200cdoor.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for\u200b the New \u200dYork congressman, the door \u2014 as with the rest of the Capitol complex, one assumes \u2014 is under video\u200b surveillance, and the tale of the tape tells a markedly \u2064different story.<\/p>\n<p>Just so we\u2019re clear on the timeline of events \u200chere: On\u200c Sept. 30, Bowman pulled the \u2064alarm just \u200cbefore the House passed the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mccarthy-says-doesnt-want-part-republican-team-passing-continuing-resolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stopgap bill<\/a>\u201d by a\u2064 vote of 335-91. \u200cIt was signed later in the day by President\u200b Joe Biden, thus averting a government shutdown.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/09\/30\/us\/politics\/jamaal-bowman-fire-alarm-house.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> reported, Bowman\u2019s decision\u200d to pull \u2062the alarm\u200c came \u201cas his party was trying to delay \u200ca vote on\u201d the bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe alarm was triggered at the same time that House Democrats\u2062 at the \u200dCapitol were stalling a vote on a spending \u2062measure to keep the government operating for another 45 days,\u201d the Times noted. \u201cSpeaker Kevin\u2063 McCarthy had unveiled the bill just\u2064 minutes earlier, and\u200c Democrats were scrambling\u200d to read the bill and determine whether to support it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLater in the \u200bday, the\u2064 bill passed 335 \u200dto 91, with more Democrats voting for it than Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It \u200dworked, temporarily, leading \u2064to an\u200b evacuation of \u200dthe building \u2014 \u200bwhich \u2062didn\u2019t sit well with Republicans.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Democrat Rep.\u200c Jamaal Bowman \u200dpulled\u2062 the fire alarm\u2062 in\u200d the Cannon building this\u200d afternoon\u200d and \u200dinterrupted the official proceedings of the House as Republicans worked to keep the \u2062government \u2064open.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m calling on\u2063 the DOJ to prosecute him using the\u200b same law they\u2062 used to prosecute\u200d J6\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KlXjwVrkc1\">pic.twitter.com\/KlXjwVrkc1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. \u200dMarjorie Taylor\u2062 Greene (@RepMTG) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMTG\/status\/1708199874456334697?\">September 30, \u200c2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Then-House Speaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-matt-gaetz-claims-kevin-mccarthy-exposed-swampy-saboteur-speaker-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kevin McCarthy<\/a> called the tactic\u200d \u201ca new low.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">McCarthy responds to a photo showing \u200bJamaal Bowman pulling the Capitol fire alarm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s \u200ba new low. Honest!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to personally clear up confusion surrounding today\u2019s \u200cevents,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/squad-dems-weigh-terrorists-murder-hundreds-israel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bowman<\/a> said in a statement. \u201cToday, \u200das\u200d I was rushing to make a\u200d vote, I\u200d came \u2062to a\u2062 door that is usually open for votes but today would \u200bnot open.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am embarrassed to admit that I activated\u2062 the fire alarm, mistakenly \u2064thinking it would\u200b open the door.
