After a narrow 22-21 loss to\u2064 Foothill on Oct. 12, Villa Park bounced back with a thrilling 34-33 overtime win against Yorba \u2063Linda on Oct. 20.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 Garden Grove League presents an even more complex scenario, with\u2064 Los Amigos, Rancho Alamitos, and La Quinta all boasting 3-1 league records. Each\u200d team\u2063 has a chance to claim at least a share of the championship by winning this week.<\/p>\n<p>Mark your calendars for Oct. 26, as Los Amigos takes on Santiago at Garden Grove, and Rancho Alamitos faces Loara at Bolsa Grande (6:30 p.m. \u2064kickoff). La Quinta will play the following\u2063 night at Bolsa Grande.<\/p>\n<p>In the Sunset League, the path to the championship is\u2064 straightforward. Edison and four-time defending champion Los Alamitos, both with perfect 4-0 league records, will battle\u2062 it out for the title at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Tustin, the undefeated powerhouse with a 9-0 overall record,\u2063 and Cypress (6-3) are set to clash\u200b for the Empire League\u200c championship at Tustin. Tustin Coach Anthony \u200cLopez emphasizes the importance of seizing this opportunity:\u200b &#8220;This week\u2062 is our \u200cfirst opportunity \u2062to\u2063 put something together and win something\u2064 meaningful, that being the Empire \u2064League championship. Santa \u2063Ana, the unbeaten team with a 5-0 league record,\u200b faces Orange, who could secure a share of the title with a victory. St. Margaret&#8217;s is also in the mix and could claim a \u2064piece of the championship with a win\u2062 over visiting Calvary\u200b Chapel combined with \u2062a\u2063 Santa \u2062Ana loss.<\/p>\n<p>Orange, last season&#8217;s CIF Southern Section Division 6 championship runner-up, eagerly awaits their playoff fate this year.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Robert Pedroza expresses\u200c optimism about\u200c their\u2063 chances: &#8220;I think right now, \u2063where we&#8217;re placed as far as\u2062 division, we have a really good\u200b shot. The \u200clast couple of years, we have been in\u2064 high divisions that are\u200c really tough for our school, and we&#8217;ve \u2063succeeded in\u2063 those divisions,\u200d but now it looks like we&#8217;re in a spot that we have a good \u2064shot, I think, to make a good run.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A similar three-team scenario unfolds in the Freeway \u200cLeague, where Sonora aims to\u2063 secure the outright title with a victory against La Habra. However, a victory by University would \u2064create a\u200c co-champion scenario that could also involve Beckman if they win at Woodbridge.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Tom Ricci\u2063 emphasizes the importance\u2064 of finishing\u2064 the\u200d league strong: &#8220;We want to finish up league strong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the Pacific Coast League, Dana Hills needs a win against Northwood to secure the championship.\u2063 However, defending league champion Northwood could stake claim to a co-title with a victory, while Laguna Hills needs a win over Portola and\u200c a Dana Hills \u2062loss to share the championship.<\/p>\n<p>Trabuco Hills, the lone\u200b team with a perfect 2-0 record in the Sea View League, aims to wrap\u200c up the title with a win at El \u2063Toro.
