Additionally, the report \u2063highlights a \u2062Washington Examiner story that details how Mexican cartels have used virtual private networks, \u2064or VPNs, to\u2064 set up appointments for immigrants across \u200cthe globe. The app is designed to be geofenced only to allow\u200d appointments for people \u200cin northern Mexico.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c[DHS] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas has utterly abused \u2064the CBP One\u2064 app in his quest \u200cfor open\u2062 borders,\u201d \u200dcommittee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) said. \u201cThese numbers are proof that Mayorkas\u2019s operation is a smokescreen for the mass release of individuals into this country who would otherwise have zero \u200cclaim to be admitted.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The statements show that many Republicans remain focused on immigration even amid world\u200c events such as the Israel-Hamas war that have \u200bpushed \u2064it out of the headlines.
