It allows them to talk out of both sides of \u200dtheir mouths.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>You\u2019d have to be crazy to come right \u200dout and say Israel had the horrific massacre of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/10\/23\/israel-hamas-war-live-updates-photos-analysis-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some 1,400<\/a> of its people \u2014 including civilian women, the elderly and babies \u2014 coming. To \u200dmaintain any form of strained credibility, even many leftists will say Israel has the right to defend itself.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, to appease the anti-Semites \u200cin their ranks, they will warn Israel \u2062that it has to play fair and not go too far in its response to the raping of \u2064its women and the butchering of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hamas-releases-chilling-footage-militants-holding-babies-israel-forced-make-horrifying-choice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Israeli babies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Why? Because Israelis are \u2062framed by leftists as colonizing oppressors who, \u200bat the end of the day, deserve what they get.<\/p>\n<p>Former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/obama-crony-caught-up-in-massive-fraud-scandal-dating-back-to-barracks-reign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barack Obama<\/a> \u2014 known for his oratory skills in saying one thing and meaning another \u2014 is in\u2064 lockstep with the Israeli as oppressor narrative.<\/p>\n<p>In a \u200bstatement published Monday \u200con <a href=\"https:\/\/barackobama.medium.com\/my-statement-on-israel-and-gaza-a6c397f09a30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Medium<\/a>, Obama\u2063 started with the familiar line that \u201cIsrael has a right to defend its citizens\u201d and root out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rashida-tlaib-shamelessly-triples-hamas-hospital-claims-demands-independent-international-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hamas<\/a> following its \u201chorrific\u201d surprise attack\u2063 on Oct. 7.<\/p>\n<p>However, it didn\u2019t take long for Obama to shift gears. The third paragraph began, \u201cBut even as we support Israel, we \u2063should also be clear \u2063that \u200chow Israel \u200cprosecutes this fight against Hamas matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s the shift. Israel has the right to respond to the brutalization of innocents, but \u2026<\/p>\n<p>By the fourth paragraph, the former president was finishing up with his condemnation of \u2063Hamas by saying its \u201cmilitary operations are deeply embedded within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/large-queers-palestine-protest-hits-nyc-official-punishment-homosexuality-gaza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gaza<\/a> \u2014 and its leadership seems to intentionally hide among civilians, thereby endangering the \u200bvery people they claim to represent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bad Hamas, \u200dright? That\u2019s what it looks like on the surface. The \u2064subtext suggests\u200d that \u200cfor the Israelis to accomplish their goal, they will have to march into heavily populated Gaza \u200cand indiscriminately\u2063 kill civilians. This, the Obama narrative seems to suggest, is unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p>No one wants to see\u2063 civilians get caught in the crossfire except Hamas, which uses them as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/son-hamas-founder-blasts-mainstream-media-not-telling-truth-terror-group-afraid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">human shields<\/a>, as Obama suggested.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Israelis aren\u2019t going to rape women and\u200c purposefully murder babies. There will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-reduces-support-for-s-arabia-in-another-boon-to-iran\/\" title=\"Biden reduces support for S. Arabia in another boon to Iran\">civilian casualties<\/a>, but not by\u200d Israeli design.<\/p>\n<p>What Obama does not say is more telling than what he does say. He never says what Israel should do, \u200bjust what it shouldn\u2019t do \u2014 attacking Gaza will mean\u2062 the death of innocent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/blm-school-releases-pro-palestinian-toolkit-teach-us-kids-israels-dismal-world-image\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Palestinian<\/a> civilians, \u200cso don\u2019t do it. That would mean Israel would have to \u2062give up on rooting out Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>Failure to hold Hamas accountable would be the \u2062same as inviting another attack on Israeli civilians. That\u2019s \u2062what\u2062 terrorists do.<\/p>\n<p>By the fifth paragraph,\u200b Obama geared up to give Hamas a\u2063 ready-made excuse for its next terrorist attack, warning that \u201cany Israeli military strategy that ignores the human costs could ultimately\u200d backfire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlready, thousands of Palestinians have been killed in the\u2064 bombing of Gaza, many\u200c of them\u2064 children,\u201d he \u200clectured. \u201cHundreds of thousands have been forced from their \u200chomes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m\u2062 not sure where Obama gets his news. Maybe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/liveblog\/2023\/10\/16\/israel-hamas-war-live-iran-warns-resistance-front-may-attack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Al Jazeera<\/a>? Whatever the case, he clearly was trying to shift blame from Hamas \u200bto \u2064Israel. Are we now to see Israel as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/israel-releases-audio-hamas-terrorists-realizing-gaza-hospital-hit-friendly-fire-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">terrorists<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>The former president wasn\u2019t finished. His next move was declaring the Palestinians as oppressed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-many-jews-support-democratic-party-reality-might-surprise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">colonizing<\/a> Israelis. To make \u200cthis point, he went on a bit of a rant.<\/p>\n<p>Declaring that \u201call of us need to do our best to put our best values, rather than our \u2063worst fears,\u200b on display,\u201d he described what that would entail:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It means acknowledging that Palestinians have also lived in disputed\u200b territories for generations; that many \u200cof them were not only displaced when Israel was formed but continue to be forcibly\u2062 displaced by a settler \u200cmovement that too often has received tacit or explicit support from the Israeli government; that Palestinian leaders who\u2019ve been willing to make concessions for a \u200ctwo-state solution have too often\u2064 had little to show for their efforts; and that it is possible for\u200d people of good will to champion Palestinian rights and \u200boppose certain Israeli government policies in\u200c the West Bank\u2062 and Gaza without being anti-semitic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Spare us the history lesson,\u2062 professor.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli-Palestinian dispute has a long history that reaches back to biblical\u200b times. Reducing it to the aftermath of\u2063 World War II may be convenient for leftists, but it\u2019s at the expense of the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Leftists choose power over truth each and every time.<\/p>\n<p>Obama ended his lecture with a call to action \u2014 do\u200c what \u2062I say\u200d and all will\u200c be good.<\/p>\n<p>I can see him pontificating from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/harvard-students-anti-israel-open-letter-backfires-horribly-employer-responds-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harvard<\/a> lectern as he opined,\u2063 \u201cBut if we care about keeping open \u2064the\u2063 possibility of peace, security and dignity \u2063for future generations of Israeli and Palestinian children \u2014 as well as for our own \u200dchildren \u2014 then it falls upon all of us to at least make the effort to model, \u200din our own words and actions, the kind of world we want them to inherit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What model was he suggesting? That \u200dwe talk out of both sides of our mouth like consummate politicians? That won\u2019t do. Nothing at all would\u2064 make sense.<\/p>\n<p>Does he want us to condemn Israel and praise the Palestinians? That would amount to perpetuating a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-big-lie-upended-note-appears-underneath-tweet-misleading\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">big lie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe he wants\u200c us \u2062to follow along like blind lemmings and make it easier for leftists like him to lead the West over a cliff.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not going to happen.<\/p>\n<p>Drop\u200d the mic, Obama.
