Alinsky, and the influence of his book, \u201cRules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals.\u201d His 1971 work focuses on how to run a movement for change.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">In response to this\u200c effort now dominating\u200c liberal politics in this country for the last half century, author Christopher G. Adamo\u2063 self-published \u200da book in 2019 called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abebooks.com\/9781733218207\/Rules-Defeating-Radicals-Countering-Alinsky-1733218203\/plp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rules for Defeating Radicals<\/a>: Countering the Alinsky Strategy in Politics and Culture.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">One strong impression you get when you start reading the book is how eloquent Mr. Adamo is. The second is that it would be wise to study up\u200d on\u200c Alinsky and his mischief first. A\u200b great place to begin is in this newspaper. Searching \u201cAlinsky\u201d finds a treasure-trove of hits,\u200b with the lead primer being\u200d \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/opinion\/the-overrated-saul-alinsky-and-the-conservative-organizers-who-do-better-3589022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Overrated Saul Alinsky and the Conservative \u200bOrganizers Who Do Better<\/a>\u201d by Robert G. Natelson, senior fellow in constitutional jurisprudence at the Independence Institute in Denver, Nov. \u206326, 2020.<\/div>\n<p>Mr. Adamo spends the first six\u2063 of ten \u2063chapters providing arguments and examples of the liberal strategies of shaping the masses. He then throws in a chapter \u2064on RINOs (Republicans in Name \u2064Only), which\u2063 might \u2063be a tad\u2062 more strident than most Republicans may want to digest, and closes with the actual proposed rules in \u200cchapters eight and nine, followed by the concluding Chapter 10.<\/p>\n<p>This is a book written to conservatives, and it is motivated by the following \u200bobservation\u200c provided in the book\u2019s introduction:<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\">\n<figure style=\"width:332px\" class=\"alignleft\"><figcaption>Saul\u200c Alinsky in a photograph published by the Associated Students of the University of California, Southern Branch. (Public Domain)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cLittle concerted effort was ever actually made to adequately counter the Alinsky strategy, once it became the core of Democrat Party politicking. And as a result, the concept of sincerely and legitimately debating any issue, regardless of its merits or liabilities, and despite the likelihood of negative repercussions to the nation, has been thoroughly supplanted \u2062by a preemptive barrage of fierce attacks\u2062 against anyone daring to oppose the liberal position. Though conservatives should be accustomed to this sordid game plan by now, they are instead repeatedly \u2062blindsided by\u2063 it. Rather than being able to weigh the pros and cons of a particular agenda item \u200bin the public arena (which would shift the debate unquestionably in their direction), conservatives find themselves the targets of vile and baseless slander, to which they invariably react defensively and are thus rendered politically impotent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Mr.\u2064 Adamo builds his case, he reminds the reader \u2062throughout that \u201cthe Alinsky strategy is only effective against those who \u2062allow it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The third chapter, titled \u201cHypocrisy \u2064as a Strategy,\u201d resonated with my perception of the \u2063mainstream media\u2019s approach to current events:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Timothy McVeigh\u2064 bombed the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City\u2063 &#8230; leftists from then President\u2064 Bill Clinton down to every <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nbc-news-anchor-fairness-is-overrated\/\" title=\"NBC News Anchor: \u2018Fairness Is Overrated\u2019\">nightly news anchor<\/a> across the nation reacted with Pavlovian predictability, targeting their favorite conservative nemesis as \u2062a de facto accomplice, without a shred of evidence that McVeigh influenced \u2063any of them. Yet when Ted Kyzinski, the notorious \u2018Unabomber\u2019 was finally identified\u2062 and \u2063apprehended, the\u2063 mountain\u200d of evidence of leftist ideology as his motivation was actually excused and dismissed on the basis that Kyzinski had a valid reason \u2062for his feelings, if not entirely for his actions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re seeing this same strategy playing out \u200bas we watch the Hamas attack on Israel and the reactions by leftists in their protests on college campuses. Which makes his\u200d fourth chapter, \u201cBranding Heroes \u200dand Villains: The Power of Labels,\u201d even more relevant:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPerhaps more than any other single aspect \u2064of the Alinsky strategy, the ability of the left to create this pretense of moral \u2018superiority\u2019\u200c has\u2062 enabled it to infiltrate \u200devery area of our society with seeming credibility that\u2062 never should have been allowed. Thus it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-leads-biden-in-critical-2024-swing-states-reuters-ipsos-poll\/\" title=\"Trump ahead of Biden in key swing states for 2024: Reuters\/Ipsos poll.\">remains politically viable<\/a> while engaging in unspeakable behavior, spewing the vilest of epithets and fraudulent \u200daccusations, and\u200d when all else fails, overwhelming its political opposition with violence, all while still parading its phony mantle of \u2018virtue.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\">\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Men and women dressed \u2063in black attend a protest in Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct. 20, 2021. (John Fredricks\/The\u200d Epoch \u200bTimes)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Let me share one more observation that may further entice you to obtain a copy of \u201cDefeating\u201d for a candid conversation of this nation\u2019s moral downward spiral:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeftists\u200c have continued to encroach on\u200b their real target:\u2063 traditional (Judeo-Christian) morality which, somewhat ironically, they\u200d attack\u2062 with the most vile and unfettered exhibitions of real hate. &#8230; they deem themselves fully justified in\u200b shutting down free speech, and suppressing religious freedom, in total contradiction to the First Amendment. With\u200c characteristic sanctimony, they\u2062 assert that it is their moral obligation to oppose, by any available means, \u2018haters\u2019 \u200don \u2062the right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Adamo calls \u200bit straight and provides a remedy that you should be implementing. You\u2019ll appreciate his rules\u2062 to respond to the\u200c ongoing onslaught, such as, \u201cA single, well articulated presentation of truth can thoroughly devastate even the most elaborate construct of leftist lies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Adamo is fully aware \u200cthat a disengaged public, that \u200dis largely unaware of the real encroaching threats facing it, needs \u2063to be educated. His book does a good job of doing so. And it may be an aid in swinging back the leftist agenda that has \u2063been infiltrating local legislators, cities, and school districts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\"><em>Views \u200dexpressed in this article are\u200b opinions of the author and do not necessarily\u2063 reflect the views of \u200dThe Epoch \u2062Times.<\/em><\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How does Adamo suggest \u2063conservatives can effectively counter\u200c liberal attacks?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Wavers, regardless of how baseless or outlandish\u2062 their claims might be. This is why \u2063conservatives have consistently failed to effectively push \u2064back against liberal attacks and have been left politically\u2063 impotent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the book, Mr.\u2064 Adamo emphasizes the \u2063importance of understanding the tactics used by the left and developing effective counterstrategies. He provides\u200b examples and real-life scenarios to illustrate how these tactics have been used successfully by liberals and how they can be countered \u2063using conservative principles and strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the proposed rules\u200d for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-antidote-for-rules-for-radicals\/\" title=\"The Cure for 'Rules for Radicals'\">defeating radicals include grassroots organizing<\/a>, developing strong conservative leaders,\u2062 effectively communicating conservative \u2063values, and utilizing social media and other digital \u200bplatforms to counter liberal \u200cnarratives.<\/p>\n<p>One of\u200c the key takeaways from this book \u2064is the need\u200d for conservatives\u200b to be proactive and assertive in their approach. Adamo emphasizes the importance of not allowing\u200d the Alinsky strategy\u200b to dictate \u200cthe terms of \u2064the debate and instead taking the initiative \u200cto \u2063set\u200b the narrative and \u2062agenda.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, &#8220;Rules for Defeating Radicals&#8221; by Christopher G. Adamo is a timely and insightful book that provides a comprehensive analysis of the Alinsky strategy and\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/premiering-4-29-at-730pm-et-kevin-roberts-a-roadmap-to-defeating-the-deep-state-and-winning-the-new-cold-war-with-communist-china\/\" title=\"PREMIERING 4\/29 at 7:30PM ET: Kevin Roberts: A Roadmap to Defeating the Deep State and Winning the New Cold War with Communist China\">offers practical solutions<\/a> for conservatives to effectively \u2062counter liberal\u200c tactics.
