During the incident, the judge pulled out\u2064 a loaded gun\u2064 on a defendant whom he claimed was threatening\u2062 him.<\/p>\n<p>Robert J. Putorti had been\u2063 serving as the judge in Whitehall \u2062Town and Village Court\u2063 since \u20622014. Located about 80 miles north of Albany, Whitehall is a small community.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/cjc.ny.gov\/Determinations\/P\/Putorti.COA.Decision.2023-10-19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decision<\/a> by the state Court \u200dof Appeals on Thursday revealed that Putorti, who is white, alleged that he \u200bhad been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/teen-stunned-judge-wont-release-violent-robbery-charges-cant-get-house-arrest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">threatened<\/a> by a &#8220;big black man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Court \u2062of Appeals ruling stated\u200b that Putorti &#8220;exploited a classic and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/analysis-liberal-animosity-toward-minorities-teachers-and-poor-people-is-out-of-control\/\" title=\"ANALYSIS: Liberal Animosity Toward Minorities, Teachers, and Poor People is Out of Control\">common racist trope<\/a>\u200d that Black \u2064men are \u200cinherently threatening or dangerous, exhibiting bias or, at least, \u200dimplicit bias.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is indefensible and inimical to the role of a judge to brandish a loaded weapon in court, without provocation or justification,\u2063 then brag about\u2063 it repeatedly with irrelevant racial \u2064remarks,&#8221; said Robert\u2064 H. \u200bTembeckjian, administrator for the \u2064state&#8217;s Commission on Judicial Conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Tembeckjian added, &#8220;The Court&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-booted-from-bench-for-bizarrely-pulling-loaded-gun-on-defendant-in-court\/\" title=\"Judge removed from bench for pulling loaded gun on defendant in court.\">ruling today makes clear<\/a> that there is no place on \u2062the bench for one who behaves\u200d this way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The incident was described\u200c as &#8220;a very singular act of\u2062 misconduct&#8221; by Tembeckjian.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 judge&#8217;s suspension in October 2022 was followed \u2062by the appellate court&#8217;s review.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">On Friday, the state Court of Appeals determined Judge Robert J.
