We go to stores and restaurants, and we \u2063don\u2019t want to\u200d worry about those businesses getting robbed repeatedly and brazenly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ACT Now specifically targets the epidemic of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/philadelphia-influencer-challenged-police-arrest-looting-cries-hit-6-felonies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">organized retail theft<\/a> that has surged in Washington and other Democrat-run cities. The result has been \u2062catastrophic for local businesses and communities \u2014 and they appear to have had more than enough of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis legislation reflects what our community\u2064 is telling \u2063us: you want appropriate accountability for those who choose to commit crimes\u2064 and inflict fear in\u200d our neighborhoods,\u201d she said in the letter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[W]e must have a policy environment that supports appropriate accountability,\u201d Bowser wrote. \u201cBut we need \u2063to act\u200c now, and we need to send a strong message that violence is not acceptable href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/democratic-congressman-carjacked-d-c-parking-vehicle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carjackings<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Reinstates the police department\u2019s ability to stamp \u200dout <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/radical-san-francisco-da-prosecuted-just-3-drug-cases-in-2021-0-involving-fentanyl\/\" title=\"Radical San Francisco DA Prosecuted Just 3 Drug Cases in 2021, 0 Involving Fentanyl\">open-air drug markets<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Notably, the legislation also eases overly restrictive restraints on the use of police force.<\/p>\n<p>These irrational limits were promulgated in response to nationwide BLM riots following\u2063 the May 2020 \u200ddeath of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-goes-nuclear-whole-george-floyd-story-lie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Floyd<\/a> in Minneapolis police custody.<\/p>\n<p>At
