The IRB therefore deemed the study to \u2062be \u201cexempt\u201d from the protocols of clinical study and cleared it to proceed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe allegations against Dr. Mark Skidmore were baseless,\u201d Liberty Counsel Chairman Mat Staver said. \u201cResearchers with integrity like Dr. Skidmore are using\u200d rigorous scientific protocols to\u2063 validate \u200dthe \u2063dangers \u2062of the COVID-19 shots.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cCensoring scientific\u200c debate\u2062 is reprehensible and our researchers need to be free to conduct proper\u2063 science without fear of \u2062later \u2064being the subject of an ethics investigation because \u200btheir findings contradict\u200b a certain narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Top Research Paper<\/h2>\n<p>While \u2063Dr. Skidmore\u2019s study at the BMC Infectious Disease journal remains retracted, an updated\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.publichealthpolicyjournal.com\/_files\/ugd\/adf864_4c3afc4436234a96aa1f60bb6e677719.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">version<\/a> was recently published in \u2063the Science, Public Health \u200dPolicy\u2063 &#038; the Law\u2064 journal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>The study involved an \u200bonline survey completed by 2,840 participants between\u200c Dec. 18 and Dec. 23, 2021, which \u2062collected \u200cdata on COVID-19 health experiences. \u201cThe primary aim of \u200cthis work is to identify factors associated by American\u200b citizens with the decision to be vaccinated against COVID-19,\u201d it read.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>Survey Findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Respondents that knew someone who had \u2062experienced a health problem following\u2062 vaccination were less likely to be vaccinated.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Out \u200cof the 2,840\u2064 participants,\u2063 612 (22 percent) said they knew at least one individual\u2063 who experienced a health problem after taking\u2064 a COVID-19 shot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. Skidmore extrapolated the numbers\u2062 from the survey to the\u2062 national level to estimate \u200cthat COVID-19 vaccine fatalities \u200cin\u2062 America could be as around 289,789. The COVID-19 vaccine fatality number \u2064in the revised study published \u200cin\u2063 the Science, Public\u2064 Health Policy &#038; the Law journal is higher than the original study by 11,789 \u2062deaths.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>According to the \u2063BMC Infectious Diseases <a href=\"https:\/\/bmcinfectdis.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/s12879-023-08234-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">journal<\/a>, Dr. Skidmore\u2019s original study was retracted after \u201cconcerns were raised regarding\u2062 the validity of\u2063 the conclusions\u2064 drawn after publication.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A peer review of the study conducted \u200cafter publication \u2062found\u2064 that \u201cthe methodology was inappropriate as it does \u2062not prove causal inference \u200cof mortality, \u200dand \u2063limitations of\u200c the\u2063 study were not adequately described.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Despite being retracted, the study remains in\u2062 the top 1 <a href=\"https:\/\/lc.org\/newsroom\/details\/101723-lc-helps-professor-clear-ethics-probe-in-covid-shot-study-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">percent<\/a> of shared\u2064 research worldwide, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/bmc.altmetric.com\/details\/141737291#score\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data<\/a> science firm Altmetric. Second, for a\u200d variety of reasons,\u2063 many were angered by the study,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Other studies have also \u2064found \u2062links between COVID-19 vaccines and excess deaths. A \u2064March \u200breport from global macro-investment firm \u2063Phinance Technologies calculated that COVID-19 vaccines resulted in around \u200b310,000\u2064 excess deaths in\u200c the United States.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Some studies have reported otherwise.
