Cruz warns: Cartels fully control our southern border.\">international multi-billion dollar empires<\/a>.\u201d<\/strong> Meanwhile, he laments that <strong>\u201cthe people of Mexico are\u2064 victims of these cartels who have become the most powerful\u2063 force in\u200d the nation with tens of\u200d billions of dollars behind them.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cMexican\u2063 drug cartels are vicious criminals \u200band murderers,\u201d<\/strong> \u2063he asserted.\u200b <strong>\u201cThey\u2019re not\u2062 viewing the people being \u2062trafficked into\u200c the country,\u2063 not\u2062 as human beings, but as nothing more\u2063 than cargo.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">Every\u200d year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/human-trafficking-sexual-assaults-key-aspects-of-crisis-on-southern-border-2765383\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thousands<\/a> of women \u200care sexually \u2063assaulted by \u2062human traffickers, \u200cand <strong>\u201cthousands \u200dand thousands of children, little boys \u2062and little girls, are brutalized by human traffickers,\u201d<\/strong> he \u200badded.<\/div>\n<p>As people are trafficked into the United States, Mr. Cruz reveals that <strong>\u201cif someone falls \u200bsick or falls behind, they are left to \u200ddie.\u201d<\/strong> He \u200dhas seen photographs provided by Texas farmers\u200b and ranchers, showing <strong>\u201celderly people, toddlers, \u200bor pregnant \u2062women abandoned by the cartels to \u2064die in\u200b the heat because they can\u2019t keep\u2062 up.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">The senator has even witnessed\u2064 <strong>\u201ca dead body floating in the [Rio Grande] \u2063 River,\u200b the body of someone who tried\u2062 to \u200ccross but died.\u201d<\/strong> \u200c He points \u200dout that <strong>853 migrants died crossing illegally last year.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>According to Mr. Cruz, there&#8217;s a reason \u200bPresident Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala \u200dHarris have not visited \u200dthe\u200c southern border.
