He won in the 70-plus age category. This is her fourth in a \u2062row \u200bin Vet Women\u2019s Epee! \u2063Congrats \u200bLiz!\u201d USA Fencing, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/simone-biles-will-compete-in-balance-beam-event-on-tuesday\/\" title=\"Simone Biles WILL Compete In Balance Beam Event On Tuesday\">national governing body<\/a> for fencing in the United States, said\u200c in an Instagram\u2064 post.<\/p>\n<p>USA Fencing implemented its transgender \u200cand nonbinary athlete\u200d policy in November last year. The organization allows athletes\u2062 to \u200btake part in \u2064competitions \u201cin \u200ca manner consistent with their gender\u200d identity\/expression, regardless\u2062 of the gender \u200cassociated with the sex they were assigned at birth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the\u2062 organization\u2019s rules, \u2062transgender \u200cfemale athletes\u2014those who transition \u200dfrom male to \u200dfemale\u2014can only compete in women\u2019s events after \u2064completing 12 \u2062months of testosterone suppression treatment. Such individuals\u200c have to provide proof of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/transgender-fencing-win-in-womens-category-triggers-online-backlash\/\" title=\"Online backlash follows transgender fencer's victory in women's category.\">compliant \u200bhormone therapy prior<\/a> to a \u200bcompetition.<\/p>\n<p>Even with USA Fencing\u2019s 12-month threshold for allowing transgender individuals to take \u2063part in female sports,\u200d trans people still \u200chave \u2063a physical advantage over women and thus gain an\u200c edge in sports competitions, experts \u2064say.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>A 2020\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/10\/20\/id5514340-577.full_.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) \u200breport<\/a> found that despite taking\u200c feminizing\u2063 hormones \u2064for 2 years, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ama-plots-move-on-taxpayer-funded-uterus-transplants-for-biological-men\/\" title=\"AMA explores taxpayer-funded uterus transplants for transgender individuals.\">transgender-identifying biological men<\/a> \u2064were 12 percent faster than their female counterparts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Trans individuals had a \u201c9 percent \u2062faster mean \u200crun speed\u2064 after the \u20621 year\u200c period of testosterone suppression that is recommended \u2063by World Athletics for inclusion\u2063 in women\u2019s \u2062events,&#8221; according \u200cto the report.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;We Will Destroy Your \u2063Sports, Ladies&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to \u2064Mr. Kocab,\u200d other transgender sports \u200cplayers are raising eyebrows for winning women\u2019s competitions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>On Oct. 7, Tessa Johnson, a man who identifies as a woman, secured\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/sports\/transgender-individuals-win-top-spots-in-illinois-womens-cycling-race-5510178\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gold<\/a> medals in the Women&#8217;s\u2063 Single Speed \u200band\u200d Cat Half categories of the Chicago CycloCross Cup (CCC) \u2063race, a cycling competition. \u2062Evelyn\u2064 Williamson, also a\u2063 male \u2064identifying as a female, won\u200d silver\u200d in Women&#8217;s Single Speed and placed fourth \u2062in the Cat Half.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the single-speed race event, only\u2062 one biological woman was in the top three.<\/p>\n<p>In an Oct. 9 X post, Linda\u200d Blade, a former track and field coach, asked the race organizers of \u2062USA Cycling to \u201cstop calling these \u2018women\u2019s events.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are \u2062fooling nobody. These \u2063are \u2018beta-male \u2062races\u2019 where some women get to be involved. In the process, you are turning your \u2018sport\u2019 into a \u200bjoke.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Like \u2062USA Fencing, other \u200csports organizations, such as\u200d the International <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/transgender-guidelines-may-destroy-womens-sports-according-to-female-olympians-4941749\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olympic<\/a> Committee (IOC), are including transgender athletes\u200d in\u200b female \u200dsports. \u201cAthletes should\u2064 be allowed to compete in the category that best aligns with their self-determined gender\u200c identity,\u201d the IOC said in\u200b December.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The move triggered sharp criticism from Mara Yamauchi, a \u200ctwo-time Olympic marathoner for the\u2062 UK. \u201cIts total \u200cdisregard for women and girls made \u2063me so angry I \u2062was shaking,\u201d \u200bshe \u200dsaid in an X post.<\/p>\n<p>She \u2062expressed \u200doutrage \u2064at \u2062the IOC policy, which &#8220;aims to ensure that\u2062 sports \u2064bodies consider the perspectives and lived \u2063experiences of\u2063 those who may be \u2063affected by the development and implementation of\u200c eligibility criteria.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She cited an X post in which philosophy of\u2062 sport researcher Jon Pike \u2063said sarcastically, &#8220;Can you think who might \u200dbe\u2063 directly affected by eligibility criteria for *female* sport? Who might\u200b be stakeholders? It&#8217;s tricky, and it would be awful to \u2064leave out an\u2062 affected group.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Yamauchi \u200cinterpreted the IOC&#8217;s position \u200bas saying: \u201cWe will destroy your sports, Ladies, but you\u200c are so totally \u2064worthless we won\u2019t bother asking your views.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some sports organizations are taking steps to prevent transgender inclusion in female sports. In July, the International \u2062Cycling Union\u200b announced that female transgenders \u2063who transitioned after\u200b male puberty will be banned from taking part in \u2063\u201call categories\u201d of women\u2019s events.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062ban is necessary to ensure \u201cequal opportunities\u201d are preserved, the association said in its statement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Earlier in March, the World\u2062 Athletic Council <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/sports\/world-athletics-bans-transgender-biological-males-from-competing-in-female-elite-events-5146982\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement that it would\u2063 exclude male-to-female transgender athletes who have passed \u2064through\u2062 male puberty from taking part in female \u2064World Rankings competitions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to take the\u2063 view \u200dthat we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all \u200bother considerations,\u201d the organization\u2019s president said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>In April, House Republicans passed federal legislation, the Protection of\u200d Women and Girls in Sports Act, banning transgender athletes from competing in female school sports.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2>Co-ed competitions. <br \/><\/h2>\n<p><span>  Ransphobic to say that transgender women \u2063are not real women,&#8221; she \u200bsaid in\u200c an interview with The Epoch\u2062 Times. &#8220;They have the right to compete in sports just\u200d like any other woman.
