Kennedy \u200cJr.<\/a> announced he would be running as an independent \u2064in the 2024 presidential race.<\/p>\n<p>Former Harvard \u2063University professor \u200dCornel West <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/10\/05\/us\/politics\/cornel-west-independent-presidential-race.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> this month that he will be running as an independent as well.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s \u200bunknown how their candidacies\u2064 would impact \u2064a Trump-Biden matchup.<\/p>\n<p>However, the poll \u200cdid provide an early indication of how third parties might factor into \u200dthe \u20642024 election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking \u2062at registered voters across the seven swing states in the aggregate, President Joe Biden \u200dis\u200d trailing former President Donald Trump by \u20624 percentage points on a ballot including Biden, Trump, a Libertarian candidate, \u200ca Green Party candidate, and a\u2062 No\u2064 Labels candidate,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.morningconsult.com\/articles\/morning-consult-bloomberg-swing-states-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Morning Consult<\/a> reported. \u201cIn a forced head-to-head between Biden and Trump, Trump continues to lead Biden\u2063 by 4 points overall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg\u2064 noted\u200c third\u200b parties \u200dcould play a\u2063 big role in some states, including\u200c Nevada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden is winning the\u2063 state by 3 percentage points in a head-to-head with Trump, \u2062but is\u2062 losing by 3 points \u2063when third parties are \u2064included. Both results \u200care \u2064within the state\u2019s \u20624-point margin of error,\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg\u200c News\/Morning Consult\u2064 surveyed 5,023\u200d registered voters in \u2064the seven swing \u2063states.
