Reality \u200balways wins.<\/p>\n<p>Whether or not the progressives\u200d will \u200cacknowledge defeat is\u2064 anybody\u2019s guess.\u2063 If their track record\u200b is any indicator, they\u2019re \u200dmore\u200d likely to deny reality than admit defeat.<\/p>\n<p>Take the case of Jason Williams. He\u2019s the \u200cGeorge Soros-backed district attorney in New Orleans. \u201cSoros-backed\u201d is synonymous with \u2063radical.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Williams and his 78-year-old mother came \u2062up \u200bagainst a reality his progressive policies helped create when\u2063 they were\u2062 carjacked at gunpoint, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwltv.com\/article\/news\/crime\/district-attorney-carjack-gun-violence-crime-orleans\/289-61531e93-1667-4107-a994-c6ffa1aa0e23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WWL-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>In \u200can\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/pTnYFNxQx3Y?si=Tp9oYN3_nb3K1Hv9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with WWL, \u2062Williams said, \u201cThis tells\u200b you that this can happen\u200d to anybody. Nobody is immune from crime. Nobody is immune from all sorts of crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What Williams doesn\u2019t say \u2064is that nobody\u200d is immune from\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/senseless-father-three-businessman-killed-career-criminal-police-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">crime<\/a> in large part thanks\u200d to\u200d him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now,\u200b I\u2019m just glad to still be in the \u200dland of the living,\u201d Williams continued. \u201cI\u2019m\u200c glad that nobody squeezed \u2062the \u200ctrigger \u2062last night. I\u2019m glad my mother was able to get out of that car and that she\u2019s OK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Thank goodness Williams and his mother survived their brush with death. One wonders\u200c if\u200b the incident \u2014 that very well could have gone very bad \u2014 has caused Williams to self-reflect. Somehow,\u2062 I doubt it.<\/p>\n<p>Williams \u2062is one of many \u201cwoke\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wow-leftist-district-attorney-takes-things-far-even-soros-backed-ag-step\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">district attorneys<\/a> around \u200dthe country who opt to\u2062 protect \u2063criminals \u2064rather\u200c than \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-sheriffs-tell-newsom-they-wont-enforce-covid-curfew\/\" title=\"California Sheriffs Tell Newsom They Won't Enforce COVID Curfew\">law-abiding citizens<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Soft-on-crime prosecutors often count on funding from radical leftist billionaire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/flashback-democrat-megadonor-george-soros-wanted-us-israel-work-hamas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Soros<\/a>. Approximately 67% result \u2062in dismissal\u2063 without legal consequences for the \u2064alleged criminal \u2063offender. And about 20% of the felony \u200bcases dismissed were crimes of\u200c violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, \u201cWilliams\u2063 rejected 46% \u200cof \u200bviolent felony arrests for such criminal acts as \u2064murder, rape, kidnapping, carjacking, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/video-jewelry-store-worker-pulls-gun-stops-smash-grab-robbery-progress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">robbery<\/a>, among others. That represents an 84% increase over his predecessor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You get the picture.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2063 is\u2063 in no way surprising \u200dthat \u200cWilliams and\u200b his mother found themselves victims of\u200b a crime in a city that Williams has made a haven for criminals. What\u2019s surprising is that Williams didn\u2019t see it coming \u2063a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ben-franklins-name-scrubbed-from-tacoma-city-park\/\" title=\"Ben Franklin\u2019s Name Scrubbed From Tacoma City Park\">long time ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Williams\u2019 \u200dvehicle\u200b was later \u2062recovered by investigators, according to WWL. But Williams doesn\u2019t care about the\u2063 car. \u200dAnd even if he\u2019s not about to do any \u200dreflecting on his own policies, the \u2063incident did \u200dmake him\u2062 reflect on the importance of family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy 5-year-old growing up without his dad, that would\u2064 be a big\u2063 deal. \u200dMy 17-year-old going off to college without \u2062me in\u2064 his life, that would be\u2062 a\u2064 big deal. Not seeing what \u200bmy 23-year-old \u2014\u200b all her phenomenal dreams that she\u2019s got\u2064 planned for the next several \u2064years \u2014 if I did not\u2064 get to see that, that\u2019s what\u2019s important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s encouraging.
