The report also mentioned the incident in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<h2>Secret Service Assessment<\/h2>\n<p>On Sept. 29, two weeks after the \u200bincident, government \u2062accountability organization Judicial Watch \u200dobtained 11 pages of Secret \u200cService records that explained the denial of Kennedy&#8217;s\u2064 protection request.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The records\u2063 revealed\u200d that Kennedy had\u200b received threats from known \u200dindividuals and was considered at a higher risk. The \u2062Secret Service assessment identified several\u200c security threats, as noted by Cruz.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-figure\" style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Sen. Cruz insists RFK Jr. requires Secret Service protection, doubts DHS denial.\">person regularly sends threatening emails<\/a>, vowing to harm Kennedy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode post-related-videos\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Furthermore, the assessment acknowledged that\u2063 Kennedy\u200c is\u2064 at \u200drisk of assassination\u2062 simply because he is a Kennedy,&#8221; \u200cCruz stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Secret Service also mentioned that \u200cKennedy&#8217;s\u2062 media attention, including his accusations against the \u2062CIA and his stance on COVID-19 \u2063vaccines, contributed to the perceived \u200cthreats.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz\u2063 urged the DHS to promptly provide the necessary protection to Kennedy, emphasizing\u2063 the exceptional circumstances he faces.<\/p>\n<p>He requested an explanation for the delayed action and refusal to provide security despite the extraordinary threats.\u200d The DHS was given until Oct. 31\u200c to respond.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<h2>Extra Protection for Candidates<\/h2>\n<p>According to U.S. law, \u2063the Secret Service\u200d is required to provide protection to major presidential and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-either-have-laws-or-we-dont-have-laws-california-violated-its-election-laws-as-well-results-are-likely-invalid\/\" title=\"We Either Have Laws or We Don\u2019t Have Laws: California Violated Its Election Laws As Well \u2013 Results Are Likely Invalid\">vice presidential candidates<\/a> \u200band their spouses within 120 days of \u2062the general election.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The decision on \u2063who qualifies as a major\u200b candidate \u200dlies with the DHS secretary, who consults with \u200can advisory\u200c committee of Senate and House leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz pointed out that previous major candidates, such as Obama, Trump, Carson, and Ted \u2063Kennedy, received Secret Service protection well in advance of the 120-day threshold, setting a precedent for exceptions.<\/p>\n<p>The letter \u2062questioned whether Obama faced more threats during his campaign than Kennedy does today.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>While 120 days before a presidential election is \u2062the\u2064 general\u200d threshold for granting Secret Service \u2062protection, candidates \u2062have often received protection much earlier.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The\u2062 Trump\u200d administration approved Secret Service\u2062 protection for Joe Biden 221 days earlier than required, and Obama\u200b received\u200d protection almost two years before the election,\u200b marking a historic first.<\/p>\n<p>In a post \u2062on X, Kennedy stated that he is the first presidential\u2064 candidate in history \u200bto be denied\u200c White House protection.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n<p>Cruz&#8217;s letter comes shortly after Kennedy&#8217;s announcement that he will run as an independent candidate.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m \u2062here to join you in making a \u2063new Declaration of Independence for our \u2063entire nation,&#8221; Kennedy declared \u200dduring a speech in Philadelphia on Oct. 9.<\/p>\n<p>He\u200b criticized the two-party system and the \u2062influence\u200c of corporate\u200d interests on government officials.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\">\n    <em>Jeff Louderback contributed to this\u2064 report.<\/em>\n  <\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How was the potential risk\u2063 and danger to Kennedy assessed and addressed without the typical comprehensive \u200devaluation provided by the private security \u2063firm?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Rom Secretary Mayorkas as to why the usual 14-day turnaround \u2062for \u200dSecret\u2063 Service \u2063protection requests was not followed in Kennedy&#8217;s case.
